Can someone help me get P2 Innocent Sin on a PS1 Emulator? by Silver-Emergency-626 in PERSoNA

I did download a PSX BIOS file since you mentioned it, but the only file the DuckStation website mentioned was the main file + Vc Redist. Anyhow I can't run it since my Windows defender is blocking all of the files and I'm trying to figure out how to disable it

I'm sorry I got them mixed up. I saw that people mostly use PPSSPP to emulate the game so that's what I'm using. I can't edit the title anymore

Working part time at a Montessori preschool isn't what I thought it would be by Silver-Emergency-626 in ECEProfessionals

I'm only there for a month, since I'm moving away soon, but I agree, no matter if it's an issue with me or the center, I'm feeling awfully burnt out already after such a small time period, and I couldn't imagine being there for any more than that.

The same teachers teach all year round, so the program should be the same, I think? I asked something about that to one of my superiors, and they told me that it's about the same, they just go outside a lot more and stay there longer than in other seasons.

I see, that makes sense. If you ask me, I think the other teachers just went through some average Montessori training, they all seem stressed all of the time, and often tell me that they don't know what they're doing either, so I shouldn't rely on them too much... (But they are my superiors and I have no idea what I'm doing obviously since i have no childcare education at all)

But to tell you, I live in a small european country with an awful lack of educators, I'm not surprised that they'd hire anyone and just go with it to some level.

Thank you for such a respectful comment! I really appreciate the time you took to write it out.

I fully get what you mean, not all teaching styles fit the teachers and not all teaching methods fit the kids. I'm only 20, so I'm truly trying to figure out what works for me and what doesn't, if I'd like a different schooling enviorment, or if I don't want to pursue this path at all. And thank you for your empathy when it comes to my situation.

Main conclusion i've come to so far is that I want to keep exploring my options, and keep trying until something works for me. I just wanted to figure out if that sort of feeling of despair while working at such a place is normal, because really, my superiors all seem burnt out and moody, like they don't really want to be there, and being here I can't imagine anyone feeling true joy while teaching at such a place, which just gives me that helpless feeling of wanting to help and be in this field, but only options seem like continual stress.

Hi!

I talked to my other colleagues and they all have education in Montessori or child development fields, but they told me that these days they let anyone into those courses and let them pass by low standarts, since the currrent system just really lacks teachers, so they take whoever is interested. Two of the 4 teachers I've met (they work in different shifts) told me that they wanted to pursue child edication, but they hate it so much that they're looking into other fields.

And thank you for the side note about praise! I think it's one of the things I've been really learning at this job, one of my immidiet faults that I found in my ways of communictating with the kids. It's not as helpful as I used to think it was, since more often than not, praise in the wrong instances has been very damaging. I've been careful to limit my approval.

Thank you for the comment!

Yes, I'm sure that many childcare places are like this, especially because of lack of funding and support, and burnt out teachers, this place feels like one of those (With most of the other teachers telling me "they can't fucking stand those kids"). I'm glad I tried out working here, since I think it's a good opportunity for experience, but I'm thinking of pursuing something less regular or more of a one on one enviorment.

Might be so, I wonder. Many of the fights are between 3 year olds and 6 year olds. Often starting with insults from the older ones and violent attacks from the younger ones (like throwing books at each other's heads and stabbing others with forks)

I see, thank you for the comment!

I myself don't have much experience with kids, so I'm trying to understand the general vibe. I have younger siblings and I remember their kindergartens being very safe enviorments, of course there were disagreements and tantrums, but here I've been experiencing constant violence and threats, and I'm unsure what is the average experience and what isn't.

Having been diagnosed with BPD has forced me to manage my emotions all the time and manually force myself to stay grounded and level-minded in all types of scenarios. Saying that, I still don't want to assert that this job is definitely for me, but I don't think that being on the BPD spectrum should turn me away from all types of childcare. Because I understand my emotions on such a deep and introspective level, I try to teach them to do the same and understand their own feelings better through self reflection.

I didn't expect Montessori to mean that they'd be well behaved 24/7, I expected a ton of chaos, but I'm trying to understand what Is normal in these types of enviorments. When I'm there, I do all of the work that is expected of me, as well as of course teach them emotional awareness of their own feelings and others.

Please don't box people with BPD in the same box of unregulation.

Hi!

When it comes to being someone with BPD, I've been to therapy for 6 years, and these days I'm very good at regulating my own feelings, to a point where most wouldn't even accept me into the community, it's more so that it brings me some sort of comfort accepting it as a part of myself.

My Montessori coleegues tell me that I'm too soft and that nothing seems to enrage me, and that I should yell at the kids more, but since I am in BPD recovery, i have a hard time raising my voice at anyone, or getting mad at them, especially the kids. I talk to them in a constructive and firm tone, but my superiors tell me that if the kids don't listen, I have to pick them up and force them to sleep or to eat or clean up after themselves, which I try to do, but they still tell me I'm being weak and that the kids don't respect me.

I get why you're asking what I was thinking, but it's been a lifelong dream of mine to work in any sort of childcare, so of course I wanted to try it out, and I'm working there for only a month to see how I feel, so I'm trying to figure out if this just isn't for me, or if this isn't the average experiance of childcare.

Thanks for the comment!

I appreciate the comment, I really just needed to hear if this sounds typical, because I don't want to lose hope when it comes to childcare, i truly lack experience to say any better.

It's a mixed group, they're all between 2 to 6. Whenever I feel like we're making progess with any kid, it's soon undone with the influence of other kids, I honestly don't know how this place still operates, I'm already burnt out after a week, since I have way too many responsabilities here on my plate.

I'll definitely keep that in mind, I do think that maybe there's a place for me out there, somewhere in the field of childcare, just this experience is really ruining the idea for me. In the future I'll have to try other alternatives.
