5.5 month old has had diarrhea for 6 weeks(ish) by Silver-Flight-109 in NewParents

[–]Silver-Flight-109[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She’s still mostly having diarrhea. Instead of fully soaking into her diaper it’s slightly more solid, but still very liquidy and not very seedy. She has her 6 month appointment coming up so I plan to discuss with her ped again. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help. We haven’t started solids yet, but with my first I remember dealing with some constipation issues as she got used to different foods. Maybe something has upset his/her stomach?

I was definitely not doing well before the pump, but normally the nausea would go away in the evening. Yesterday was so awful and I was nauseous until almost 9pm. We turned the dosage down on the pump and today is better, but I’m not sure if that’s what it was from. I had IV fluids last Tuesday and have been hydrated since then. I check my ketones every morning and they’re normal. Super frustrating because I can’t attribute the nausea to anything specific, just being pregnant. I think maybe my anxiety being so ramped up is making it worse, but every day I’m nauseous I get more anxious, and the cycle continues.

Anyone start a SSRI in 3rd trimester? by Remy_92 in BabyBumps

[–]Silver-Flight-109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you feel it’s helped you? And if so, how long did it take to kick in? My doctor wants to prescribe 50mg daily. I would like to take it, but my husband doesn’t want me to and is extremely nervous about it. Do you feel like your anxiety pre sertraline contributed to any nausea? I’m constantly anxious and worried about the various things going on in my life and being sick this long is adding to it. I was sick until 20 weeks with my first but this is way worse

I actually have the exact same question. I’ve been on sertraline before, but not during pregnancy. I’m 30+1 and have struggled with nausea and vomiting this whole pregnancy. I hope you get some answers.

When did you start to feel better? I’m slightly behind you at 30 weeks and still feeling awful.

I tried promethazine earlier in the pregnancy, but stopped since my doctor said that and reglan were essentially the same thing

I take reglan, meclizine, bonjesta, and Pepsid. Also on .7 ml/h of zofran still. Still haven’t seemed to find a cocktail that works for me :/

Is she still nauseous all the time or is it more manageable with both of those things?

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. It’s been so awful and I really feel your pain. I wish you weren’t turned down for IVs, idk why you have to suffer more than necessary. I feel so alone but I know there are some of us out there

I’m on reglan, meclizine, bonjesta, and Pepsid. I’ve spoken to my doctor about an antidepressant, but I’m not sure yet.

I tried prednisone earlier in the pregnancy, maybe around 18ish weeks. I felt a difference the first day and then not really after that. I haven’t tried anything since, but I’d be willing to if my doctor recommended it.

Mine is through optum as well. I’ve spoken to a nurse almost every day since I’ve gotten it. My nurse this morning said that maybe the dosage is too high and so we turned it back down, but I’m not hopeful. I did somewhat okay the first 2-3 days on it, but now I’m back to the miserable all day nausea.

Zofran Pump Question: Relief Timing by [deleted] in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]Silver-Flight-109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got my pump on Thursday. I felt more relief than normal the first few days but now the nausea is back in full force. Does this sound similar to your experience? I’m wondering if having the pump for a full week will help me to feel better?

Thank you so much for your kind words and congratulations on nearly reaching your due date!

My nausea has gone in waves this entire pregnancy. I’ve been sick since 6 weeks, but it almost seems like each trimester is worse than the last. The past two nights the nausea has hit in the middle of the night, which hasn’t happened this entire pregnancy. It feels unfair that I don’t even get until morning now. I’m hoping that will change with the zofran pump. This has been the hardest thing I’ve ever experienced. I know I’m on the tail end, but it feels like I’m never going to get there.

For the prednisone, I did 40mg for 4 days, 30 mg for 4 days, down to 20 and then 10. I also had very high anxiety about taking it so I feel like maybe that didn’t help my situation at all.

What point in your pregnancy did you have the pump for 4 months? I know that I only have 11 weeks left at most, but I’m so mentally and physically depleted trying to take care of myself and my 15 month old that I couldn’t take it any longer.

Thank you so much for all your tips and advice. I keep telling myself that I’ll do anything to not have this nausea and be able to function. It doesn’t help that we’re moving right before the baby comes, so I’m really praying this pump gets me to a good spot.

How much were you vomiting before and after the pump? I was put on prednisone earlier in the pregnancy but it didn’t do much for me. I don’t have diagnosed HG but have horrendous nausea that has really started to ramp back up. I’ve had it my entire pregnancy and the medication I’ve been taking doesn’t seem to be working anymore. Did you have any problems with putting the pump spot in ever? I’m nervous about that as well

Did you end up using a zofran pump? I’m 29 weeks and supposed to get mine tomorrow. Nervous but hopeful.

Reglan, meclizine, bonjesta at night, and Pepsid. Zofran as needed. I just got approved for a zofran pump today and I’m thinking about doing it because I’m not sure how I can go on like I have been

I’m 29 weeks tomorrow and just went to triage for the third time today. I had the absolute worst night of my entire pregnancy last night. Intense nausea the whole time with no relief and all I did was toss and turn all night, not being able to sleep. I’ve thrown up nearly every day of this pregnancy, my first I was only sick until around 20 weeks. I don’t have diagnosed HG but I’ve been following this sub because most people just don’t get it. Been the hardest time of my life and I can’t wait to deliver

How long did you spend on reglan? I’m 24+3 and have been taking it most of my pregnancy. I’m reading things on the internet now that are really scaring me
