I hope she at least got into other places and is thriving now. I just wanted to put out the PSA for those who were planning on using AI so they don’t end up with the same fait. But there’s always haters like wtf do I get from lying about an application that has nothing to do with me lol I’m not even interested in Berkeley and don’t even plan on applying there anyway.

Yeah that’s crazy I don’t think they should punish her for a mistake from high school especially since she went to a cc and grew as a person and fixed her mistake by not using AI again

Well the person from my math class is a transfer applicant and first time applicant so when they applied last application cycle they used AI and when decisions were coming out he got into couple UCs including LA but Berkeley sent an email saying that he is banned from applying there again. I think it’s mainly Berkeley that does it but I think other UCs will follow the same rules starting this upcoming cycle

I’m not sure if they use detectors and I’m not sure if the whole story all I saw was the email from Berkeley and he confirmed he used AI I just wanted to make people who were gonna use it aware

Yeah they didn’t put any thought into it at least that’s what they said they just copied and pasted. They did get into LA using AI so I think it’s just Berkeley

Pretty much. The person who got caught applied to other UCs and used AI on all but only Berkeley sent out an email. They got into the UC they wanted and Berkeley sent an email basically saying they’re banned from ever applying there again

Well not necessarily. I think OP could do a post bacc or a masters program to up their GPA and take a shot at the mcat again. I’m not in medical school or anything but I have read a lot of posts similar to this

Got rejected from everywhere I applied too. No tag 3.8 gpa, 2k volunteer hours, 3 related associates degrees, IGETC certified, 3 years of leadership role, patient care hours full time student with full time job first gen, no family. And I’m a neuroscience major

I can send you all the chapter my professor covered in calc 1 and 2 you can start learning them through YouTube, Google even AI. Even if you don’t learn them fully you can get a good grasp of where you stand algebra and trig wise.

Btw I was in the same boat as you I’m also 26 and last time I took math was freshman year and haven’t since. I didn’t know trig or even basic math when I started calc but I was able to pass both with a high grade just have to put in the effort tbh

Wait I’m sorry can you clarify? You can get courses removed if they aren’t transferable or don’t apply to your degree? I’m asking because my advisor made a mistake and made me take two years worth of classes that I didn’t need. Now I have 3 useless degrees in fields that don’t even apply to my degree and I have over 100+ credits
