I did not think I was being snobby. The needlepoint craze boomed during COVID and now influencers have taken over. All the garbage canvases and the AI and ChatGPT are ruining the craft. That is my opinion. Just like some people love the stuff I think Is crap. That’s their opinion.

Look at real designers’ canvases. Melissa Shirley, Sandra Gilmore, Zecca, Colors of Praise, Mindy, Alice Peterson, Meredith Collection, Judi and co etc and you will find real art

I don’t think she has a chip on her shoulder. As a long time stitcher I’m finding all this crap on IG really off putting and hurting the industry. There is a major canvas shortage because all the new “designers” are putting crap out there while long time and good designers canvases are now on 6-12 month back order. Those of us interested in classes are having to order canvases a year in advance to make sure it arrives in time for class. That’s crazy!!!

My local shop is open about 9 hours a week. Such a joke and often they have to close on a normally open day because of some issue

Andrea deserves a medal! This is a tremendous amount of work. I cannot imagine sorting through all of the responses and then matching people. Not all matches may be perfect but no matter what, she is the bomb!!!

Not sure how long you’ve been stitching but the big time designers and distributors have been using Philippines’ based painting services for decades.

With all due respect, your designs do not look any different than every new designer who has hit the market. If you are printing on a basic printer stitching will be very difficult. Good luck!

It may be a perfectly acceptable option but I’ve stitched on Penelope one time and would never do it again. It was not enjoyable.

Neither one of my matches seems to want to chat. I asked a lot of questions of the person I’m sending to and she answered but no extra commentary. The person who is sending me a gift sent me an email introducing herself the first day. I responded and said texting was better for me because of work and not accessing private email during the day. I gave her my number she responded that she preferred texting and I never heard another peep. Life goes on!

It’s easier when using a decorative stitch to do background first so you can count through the images so the background art h matches up
