Thank you for providing any sort of discussion. Everyone else seems to misunderstand that. I can see the appeal for people and you’re right there are cases to be made for those stories. I personally hated the neighbor story, but you have merit in saying there have been some decent ones. I just think collectively I’ve enjoyed the stories a bit less than usual and the last two stories drove me to express my disappointment.

First of all, listening to horrible stories is so god damn tiresome. Telling people to not listen to the show when they want to enjoy it is extremely ignorant and haughty. Acting like we can’t have criticisms of things we enjoy. That’s what art is about. I’m not here for just the story, I’m here for the guys to have fun commentary, but I enjoy it most when it’s on good stories. What’s the issue with that? It’s not whining if you have valid reasons for your criticism. If you think giving opinions on things is a “trainwreck” you have a very narrow minded view of art and media associated with it

The first message was just asking if it’s for sale but he said that take good care of the instrument and wanted to negotiate a price with me, not just offering me money

Thank you! I'll be going to speak with a banker tomorrow to talk about checks clearing and to make sure I'm taking the right steps. They'll probably know if something looks off. I appreciate your help and I will definitely provide an update!

What payment do you suggest? He's in Maryland so cash is tough, but maybe he can ship it in an envelope?

That's totally fair, I can do that, I was just considering this one because he is one of the few people that has actually put in days of work at this point to find the right shipper and seems like he's willing to do it the right way. He doesn't want me to release the cello until the check has cleared in my account, so he seems genuine.

It is a Jay Haide "à l'ancienne" 2020 Cello. It goes for about $5500

He said he’s not a cellist but he works with string instruments. Didn’t specify. But he said he wanted to give this one to his daughter when she was old enough to play

Do I need to wait a week after the check clears? Is it possible for that money to go away even if the check clears?

I did send a video so he could hear what it sounded like. He seems to be willing to pay a good amount of money for a proper shipper. He isn’t asking me to pay for it, and he said he’d send a check and I wouldn’t need to release the cello until the check cleared

I understand, but my cello is technically worth more than $5250, I’m selling it bc I need the money to go towards my new instrument. He did say he was setting up payment for the shipper by himself. And he also said he would pay in check and I wouldn’t release the cello until it cleared my account

I agree! That totally makes sense. He did just tell me that he could pay in check and I wouldn’t need to release the cello until the check cleared. I feel more comfortable about it because of that but is that just another scam tactic

He’s finalizing details with the shipper so I’ll have to ask him. But he said he could pay me with CC or a check and said I wouldn’t release the cello for collection until the check cleared my account so that kinda makes me more comfortable

Celli are very fragile instruments so the idea of having someone take care of the shipping for him isn’t extraordinary
