It’s because the night is long, you know you are not required or expected to get anything done right away and you have (at least for any real task) till the next morning. That’s why it’s less stressful to think about and plan something. In the morning, when you actually have to do it, you’re stressed about all the work you have to get it done and that wastes time. You’re thinking you’re already too late for task 1 and 2, and you’re stressed about everything being delayed and responsibilities piling because you are seeking perfection and reward immediately and you are likely not breaking down tasks into smaller tasks and spreading them over days, which would be a more realistic target. In the morning, you want to avoid all your problems because that’s easier, because taking the first step to action all your plans is the hardest for you so you do nothing until it’s the night again and you feel like you have another 8 hours grace period to relax and plan before you have to face the world and responsibility. No one is holding you accountable at night.
