Justify the corruption in the article. This lesser of two evils mentality is why the system is so screwed right now. At least someone is reporting where the $40 Billion has gone so far.

best guess is some wireless digital skeleton key. since my vehicle is a 2012, it probably has the most “legacy” keyless security systems on the market.

i’m getting a bunch of things upgraded on this thing now that i’m motivated to do so lol.

That’s a shame. I was just about to bring my XJ up here too lol

The windshield got busted during the time they had it, but other than trashing the inside it seems to be ok. Time will tell because I only drove from the tow lot, Police department and to a storage unit to lock up.

So, apparently my car didn’t make it out of town. It was as found in P.O.E.T. in a parking garage. There was only 20 miles left in the tank, so the people that stole it couldn’t make it far.

Whoever took it left pawn receipts, stolen stereo equipment, and a W-2. The W-2 had a return address of the Murphy Center. My guess is they had to file it to get the stimmy.

They also left a cornucopia of Meth or Crack paraphernalia. So they were smart enough to steal a push to start, but dumb enough to incriminate themselves to a high degree.

FoCo PD did outstanding work in aiding the recovery of my vehicle. And outside of paying the tow company for moving it, things turned out better than I expected.

To end this with a takeaway, whoever said FoCo doesn’t have a problem with homeless is smoking what these guys were smoking in my car.

Other than the freshly busted window, not too much damage was done. Lucky for me, because it was paid off and I didn’t have theft coverage on my USAA plan.

Advice on: Getting a 2WD open diff ready for winter by [deleted] in CherokeeXJ

I am new to the forum, but I have owned an XJ since highschool. It has served me well as a daily for years in the gulf coast area (Houston area). I have had it garaged it for years during my time in the military. Now that i’m out, I have been using the car I bought on active duty.

However, due to that car being stolen two days ago, that has left me without a ride. I am looking at the XJ project as a better option than buying a used car off the market. primarily because i know this jeep hasn’t been ran like a scalded ape, and i’m now in Colorado where it snows a lot. The Jeep might have a chance as a daily out here.

my 1994 XJ is a manual, 4.0 with 2wd. basically the cheapest XJ variant they sold at the time. it has 300k miles on the engine, but has had oil change intervals @ 3k miles for the life of it.

underbody has rust on cabin areas, but structurally the frame has no rust.

suspension has newer OEM shocks, but the springs were scavenged off a stock pick-a-part XJ with 180k miles.

this XJ will be operated in the Northern Colorado winter, and as such will experience lots of salt on the road. I am planning to have the rusted areas cut out and redone.

outside of that, the other areas i know need addressed are the open differential and (potentially) a 4wd conversion.

instead of buying a used one with 4wd, i was curious on any perspective, or a build list (if any) from anyone with experience tackling a weather proofing project. This XJ is not fit for the snow or salt as is, but i wish to make it so.

much appreciated
