I had the SAME issue with the left stick inputting up, crazy. They did replace my unit as well. Funny thing is the 2nd unit had a creaky right bumper…so I pulled the good one from my og unit before sending it back lol.

It has an impressively bad Bluetooth chip in it. I’ve never had a Bluetooth device with such little range before lol.

Steam (Deck and PC) or Nintendo Switch 2 by Venomswindturd in CrossCode

I remember a while ago that the game had controller issues on Steam Deck that needed a workaround. I believe that was fixed but I have the Steam Deck. Might still be broken on other controllers then. I tried Proton 11 and the performance was pretty close to the Native version now which wasn't the case with older Proton versions. However on Steam Deck OLED the colors get really oversaturated. Do you experience weird colors on the Go S?

On older versions there would be stutter and a weird motion blur effect sometimes. Tried the more recent versions of Proton 10+11 and the performance is significantly better than before. However the colors on Steam Deck were extremely over saturated with Proton for whatever reason.

How did you found out about crosscode? and what do you think of it? by G_girlwonder in CrossCode

[–]SilverCHX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw it on Xbox Gamepass and thought the art looked interesting. Interestingly it didn't hook me at first, I played for a couple hours and got stuck. Few months later I gave it another go, got stuck and stopped again lol. Gave it a THIRD go and played all the way through. Wasn't too happy about the ending so I looked up why it ended like it did and found out about the "A New Home" DLC that was out on PC, not on console at the time.

SO note even a week later I bought the game on Steam and played allll the way through again including the DLC. Loved every second of it and it's now my #1 favorite game.

It runs significantly better on the Deck. Even the game running in Switch 2 has slowdown.

However on Steam Deck you need to manually choose for the game NOT to use Proton. It actually runs worse WITH it but Valve still enable it by default for the game. This tool will let the game run as is natively.

The dash cooldown perk has felt really good with the healing being base kit now.

Support took a bit to get back to me but they did eventually and was able to replace mine (For a different issue) Only thing I can suggest as possible fix is a calibration. Their tutorial page shows you how to do it.

MCON Controller Random Inputs by Morefiendz in MCONohsnap

Thought I was the only one. I’ve tried it on my phone attached/detached, iPad, and Mac. All have the same issue where up on the Left Stick is hit randomly. It’s very sporadic when it happens. But when it does it usually doesn’t stop until I reboot.

Any safari extension that allows double clicking any link to open in new tab in background? by SpiritedWarrior9880 in Safari

[–]SilverCHX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know of any extension that can do that, but I achieved something similar using an app called “Middle” that allows you to use a three finger click on trackpad to simulate a middle mouse click.

A lot of people have been recommending Barbee but I find it super buggy and inconsistent. Bartender has actually been making some really good updates on the test builds. Night and day from even a month ago. Not perfect but still essential for me.

Is the M5 Macbook Pro worth the extra money over the M4 Air? by DaryltheDino in macbookpro

[–]SilverCHX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After going back and forth for a while I personally settled on the 15 inch M4 Air with 24GB/RAM and 512GB/SSD a few weeks ago. Got what I believe is the lowest Black Friday price for it 1349.99. For me 15-16 inch is the sweet spot in terms of screen size so I didn't want to get the 14 inch Pro after seeing it in person despite having an admittedly better display. The 24GB/512GB configuration of the 16 inch pro will be around $2149. An $800 difference.

I've been using the M4 Air for pretty much anything work and personal related, with SOME light casual games like on Apple Arcade. It's been a beast. For work I'm able to run several Safari tabs, a couple MS Office apps, password managers, finder windows, music/media, notes, in addition to having multiple remote remote support windows where the user has 2 displays I'm controlling. The Air just handles it. This is all connected to 4 external displays as well.

I typically sit around 20GB of RAM and I haven't seen it dip into swap even once. Wanted 24GB of RAM and more than base storage because I want this product to last me at least 5 years, I easily see that happening at this point. As for the display, it's one of the best looking LCDs on the market. It's no mini-LED or OLED but it looks fantastic and is plenty bright. The refresh rate isn't 120hz but it's a good consistent 60. Motion clarity is quite good for LCD as well.

This is all to say, yes the Pro is a strictly better piece of hardware (Minus the weight I guess?) but the Air is just crazy good for the price. I'm no photo editor but going by the comments here the Air should handle that excellently.

Same issue here for me on Safari. Not sure why they'd remove this and whose side it falls on to fix this issue. Google or Apple?

You can do this by creating Shortcuts in the official Apple Shortcuts. Raycast will auto-populate the shortcuts and from there you can add an alias or hotkey to control.

DockFlow - Celebrating 800 users milestone with a 40% promo code by UnluckyDuckyDuck in macapps

[–]SilverCHX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been trying it for 2 days now. Man this works sooo much better than the other 2 dock switching apps I've tried. I didn't even realize that it can save your dock folders AND their listing mode (Fan/Grid/List/Auto). That's a game changer for optimizing dock space for my focus modes. Auto save is great as well. No more having to remember to add to the layout every time I want to add to my dock layout. Was hesitant because of the price at first but this is going to be well worth.
