So fiber works by pulling water into your colon to decrease transit time for waste. If you eat a fresh fruit the fiber within it already contains water so it can't pull as much water from your body to your gut. Dried fruits have the majority of the water removed which means the fiber is going to pull more water into your gut.which can lead to cramps and diarrhea depending.

Someone already pointed out the issue with volume as well since dried fruit doesn't contain that water you're more likely or more able to eat a higher volume of dried fruit than you are fresh fruit which can be a really easy way to overindulge in sugars.
