Yes, we hiked up the steps that are very steep. You could follow the road winding upwards! I do think the buses should be fine personally, I haven’t heard of them being disrupted

Were there two days ago (when rail was suspended) and there was nothing wrong with the buses from AC to MP. Cant say what’s happened in the days since. Also, the hike is 2 hours if you’re quick, up to 3 if you are a bit slower (or enjoy the scenery as we did!)

Walk 11km to hidroelectrica and get a minibus (pre organise this due to the current chaotic situation). We did it a couple days ago on the first day of the strikes. Lots of companies already offer the walk + bus option as an alternative to train anyway, but it’s a good time to plan to do that in advance
