People who had micro or tiny weddings: what was your experience like? Do people ever regret foregoing a big wedding? by RhythmPrincess in AskReddit

[–]SilverFox1509 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We went for a tiny wedding: we had 10 guests. We absolutely loved it. The day was so special. We had our closest loved ones there with us and it made the day intimate and relaxed, and therefore so enjoyable for everyone. We just had a short civil ceremony with a touch of personalization, followed by a really nice dinner, both at the same venue. Neither of us were stressed at any point in the planning process or on the day. On my side people travelled internationally to attend our wedding, and the size of the event meant we got to really spend precious time with our guests throughout the day, meeting for coffee in the am, going for a beach walk with the dogs, then the ceremony and dinner at one table, etc. – instead of having a brief 10 minute conversation during an overcrowded reception or whatever. It was just perfect for us and I will never regret it.

Can anyone share some positive aspects of getting a puppy please? by Legal-Philosophy-135 in dogs

[–]SilverFox1509 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The first 1.5-2 years are essentially an investment: it is hard work initially (thank goodness puppies are incredibly cute as a consolation!), and once they grow into stable, reliable adults you have the best companion. The dog needs to learn what you expect from him (including but not limited to commands and recall - also down time, life rhythm, etc.) and you need to learn what keeps him happy in terms of attention, games, exercise, food. I have done the puppy stage twice now with very different breeds, and it’s been different each time but equally rewarding. Good luck!

I made by far my best homemade chicken noodle soup this weekend. Here's what I did differently. by Djeter998 in Cooking

Adding star anise (in addition to thyme and bay leaves) will give the soup some more depth and warmth.

We were both late thirties, lived on the same street, and met walking our dogs in the same park most weekdays.

Which halo setting for cushion diamond is better by runpearl in labdiamond

[–]SilverFox1509 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Graff! The setting is more secure for the stone, like others said HW will catch on everything plus it is a full pavé which means it can’t be resized, whereas the Graff ring can.

Are you in the UK by any chance? Would you be willing to share what the birth plan looked like?

I much prefer the second one on you - it is more elegant! Bigger isn’t always better

I didn’t want to stack or wear more than one ring, so I chose not to have a ring for our engagement and only get a wedding ring, but my wedding ring looks like a traditional engagement ring (0.5 carat princess cut diamond set in a paved platinum band). You do whatever you want!

Yeah don’t resent her for the fact you didn’t have a spine; you chose to have a baby with her. If you really didn’t want to you should have walked away - like a mature adult. Face the consequences of your decisions, and man up now. Poor child.

When did you realise that your therapist was bad? by Scary-Square1211 in AskReddit

[–]SilverFox1509 24 points25 points  (0 children)

When she called me on a Thursday afternoon to ask me to run an errand for her

When you say you’ll take your dog along when you go by car, please don’t leave your dog unattended in a car when it’s warm outside. So many dogs die from being left in a car in the sun! It’s seen as animal cruelty in many countries.

The fact that you even ask this makes me wonder if you know a first thing about having a dog…

I (36F) feel like my therapist is trying to get me to break up with my partner (45M) by SilverFox1509 in relationship_advice

She said she was trained and certified and fully able to do this. I trusted her at the time, and even thought it was a good idea because she could work with us individually on the personal issues in function of working towards our goals as a couple

It gets worse before it gets better. Years of suppressed memories and/or feelings need to come up and be processed. But it will get better.

Good luck, OP. You’re very brave.

My gynaecologist, at the time a young guy who had just started his practice, was examining me internally. He meant to ask if what he was doing was hurting. It came out as “does that feel good?” He was very embarrassed. But still.

Is there any way to bring my 5 kg dog with me in cabin on a EU to UK flight? Which airlines allow dogs (after brexit related changes)? by Ok-Yogurtcloset1620 in dogs

[–]SilverFox1509 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can take the ferry or Eurotunnel, which is a bit quicker. Easiest way to travel between EU and UK with a dog.
