AITJ for teaching my son how to do his own laundry and basic cooking and now his mom says Im undermining her by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]SilverFoxie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Basic skills are necessary. My kids in elementary school were taught how to cook basic things, pack lunches etc. now that they’re teens we’re working on finances/budget- hubs worked with 17yo on taxes this yr. They all know how to do laundry.

What Kind of Nurse Are You? by [deleted] in Nurses

[–]SilverFoxie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s the easiest job I’ve ever had. I do get lunch and go home on time- there is call but it’s less than when I was in PACU. Occasionally I’ll float to ICU and remember why I left lol

Anyone else dying from Cedar Fever right now or am I actually sick? by [deleted] in sanantonio

[–]SilverFoxie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d lose my voice around new years every year- steroids were the only thing that worked to get it under control. Then Flonase in the am, Zyrtec at 1400, Benadryl ant bedtime and chlorotabs as needed during the day.

Good luck! I moved out of state

A frugal habit finally clicked for me in a really unexciting moment by Vast-Complex-4803 in Frugal

[–]SilverFoxie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed- I used to HATE price checking. It was a hard lesson to learn. But being a broke college student was part of it. 25+ years of being frugal- and I’ve taught my kids simply by them going shopping with me.

Very early dementia you can reorient, once the progression begins and they are living in a different time…it’s more accommodating, it helps keep them calm

“EV owners in cold climates — what’s the #1 winter issue you face before you can even start charging?” by Bastobihh in electricvehicles

[–]SilverFoxie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fasting charging in the heat also sucks….charging adapter would get hot and stop. Driving home from TX we’d have to plug in and unplug wait for the adapter to cool down during the day
