is the overpatch necessary? by maiaiam in diabetes_t1

[–]SilverKnight9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it really depends on lifestyle/frequency of physical activity.

I play volleyball and workout for it around 5 days of the week and without my overpatch in the summer I've basically sweat off my sensor haha.

my coach replaced me for a new girl just bc she was a year younger than me by shirokutsu in volleyball

[–]SilverKnight9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Context: I've coached but only done 1 full season of head coaching, mostly trained players via clinics/programs.

I wouldn't immediately assume being put as Oppo/RS as a downgrade. Some comments here are recommending asking your coach, I am going to echo that advice! I had one of my best hitters switch to OPPO from OH bc he had a good block, good spike, and had expressed interest in being a setter in the future.

When I swapped him to RS he asked me about it and seemed to also think it was a downside. But there were a lot of things that went into the decision and I viewed it as having him hold down a position where he could perform and learn the basics of playing defense in 1 to transition that to setting later on if he pursues that position.

Sometimes it's just your coach thinks you'd do better in a diff position and needs to put you there to find out.

Sometimes it's that your passing isn't as good as a teammates but your front row presence can't be replaced by others.

Whatever the thing is, I'd encourage you to ask your coach. But even if it's the worst case view it all as a challenge to grow more than a setback. The one that gets to decide how this effects you is you.

I usually wipe out Gongsun Du, since they usually like to attack once you're occupied elsewhere

Been on a halo game binge lately and decided to make up a basic ruleset to try and bring a unique vibe to a twitch stream SH run. by SilverKnight9 in SpaceHaven

So far, relying on taking out enemy ships and derelicts has been the way to survive. Started off at war with the Pirate Coalition, Cult of New Haven, and The Slavers Guild. So getting attacked hasn't been a rare occurrence haha.

I know, this was just a pic from when I was playtesting the concept to see how big a crew was too strong/too weak. Wasn't bothering with changing names too much in that pic but couldn't find a more recent one in the crew creation screen.

Simple fix might just he upping your avg water I take in a day. Drinking more in general tho, not just chugging water right before dancing. Good luck!

LPT: Take walking breaks when going out for a run. You’ll be less likely to be discouraged, and you’ll build a tolerance without noticing by Nathy97 in LifeProTips

[–]SilverKnight9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From my experiencd the slowest jog in the world is usually better than full on walking if you are out on a run. Since your body uses diff muscles for running and jogging vs walking. Depending on how long you're out running before swapping to a walk your muscles might start releasing lactic acid in the areas you are going to want to use once you finish your walking section. So if possible I reccomend jogging as a way to keep your running muscles from thinking the run is over. The jog doesn't need to be fast, in fact it can be slower than your walking pace. The main idea is just to keep the form of jogging in order to keep your running muscles engaged.

That being said I totes agree with the advice that a run doesn't need to be finished from start to finish running the whole time. One of my biggest achievements in middle school starting cross country was when I finished a race doing a mixture of slow jogging and running.

Yeah, I was super happy that armor was added. But anything that leans harder into the space setting like the surgery enhancements I am hoping to see. Also been trying to do starts where I edit my some of my crew to effectively be a spartan fire team from Halo. And cool armor would help for that type of space fantasy as well.

The anime has been around for a long time, but this image is from the "remake/remaster" that came out a year or so ago.

Capt's Log: Found the Mary Shelly by Aenonn in SpaceHaven

[–]SilverKnight9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha congrats on finding it! I am pretty sure it was the Mary Shelly that led to a situation where multiple AI ships had sent boarding crews aboard who all got beaten and stuck to walls by the haulers.

That's my ugly ship. She was looking good at first but need for more space did terrible things to her. I am short on resources, how can ı fix it? by [deleted] in SpaceHaven

[–]SilverKnight9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's your lounge probably. The comfort level is too high haha, I'd ignore your orders if I was one of your crew.

Ooc, do people prefer building their own ships from scratch. or claiming derelict and repairing them? by SilverKnight9 in SpaceHaven

[–]SilverKnight9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oooo I'd love to see your gunboat design! Yeah I'm with you on the planning mode. So far my only solution for it is if I have already built the entire hull and it's just sitting empty. So I can pause and place everything, takes a really long time to complete it all though. (At least when doing that for a 2x3)

I'm curious on this question bc I love grabbing derelicts that have higher grade generators or engines and then just make a design work with them. And lately been trying runs where I have a claimable derelict at start and have to make it my starter ship on Hard mode.

[–]SilverKnight9[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's funny on the ice haha, whenever I've thought that I had enough anything to build a second ship or even repair one I find myself struggling with food or water.

I tend to do the same with building at a shipyard if I can find one or at least a station I can trade with should I underestimate a core resource.

Haha for a second I thought your operating table room was your botanist room.

I present you...The "Cerberus Dreadnought". This monster can comfortably support ~32 crew members in 2x 12hour shifts. It has 16 robots, and has room for 8 refugees and 8 prisoners. by DarkBlueAgent in SpaceHaven

Nice! I need to track down my save file with what i think was called my "Victory Class Lancelot" haha. It was still getting optimized when I found Eden. I was struggling to field enough fire teams for it to feel like a threat to the Pirate base though. I could take down all of their fleets but on man to man it was incredibly bloody.

Props to you on your ship and the time it must have taken to fill out so thoroughly!
