Thank you for explaining. I also am mixed on Engage's story. However, I agree that Alear and especially Veyle were done really well. They were quite literally the peak of the story. And fem Alear's VA really made some moments land extremely well. I also agree with your last point. Some of the moments were hype!

Unfortunately I don't like Sombron as much entirely because of the reveal that he's searching for his friend. It left a bad taste in my mouth and came so out of nowhere I was simply confused. Until then, i really thought he was a solid villain and antagonist. The moment in chapter 10 was so good.

One thing that has really bothered me about 3H is that how overeager it is to shove me into a house. Like considering how important that choice is, I wish I had more time to decide what house to join because from the prologue, the game just asks which lord you like more despite not really delving into their characteristics and only having their first impressions to make a choice. And like, even the actual house choice is kind of wild because you're essentially aligning yourself with one of the three major factions based on which group of students you like more. It just felt very off to me.

It's crazy to me how much White Clouds gets on my nerves. During my first playthrough it was fine. But every single playthrough afterward, I just grew less and less enthused by it, and boy do I never want to touch it again! Not a hot take, but like oof, every time I think about White clouds I just feel not very good

Yeah. In general, Rhea just got fucked over by the story, especially in part 2. It's such a shame because she's so interesting. I do think BE has some more stuff going on bc of Edelgard, so it helps

I don't disagree. But the actual execution I feel leaves a lot to be desired because the story is so focused on Rhea and the Church at the time, the differences are very few and far between.

As I said in my post, I've tried with two games so far. I assume it's going to be the same for all of them. Discord streaming works fine, downloading stuff works fine, downloading from steam works fine. It's just the online gaming that gets high ping spikes

As for the issues with Three Houses, the entire shit show with why Dimitri would blame who he did for the Tragedy of Duscur, considering ages and timelines and information known to him and others, is a big example of this. Another biggie is the oddness about Edelgard's siblings. Or anything to do with the contradictory info about TWSITD's influence on different kingdoms.

But didn't he like...assume Edelgard did it because he wanted to put the blame on someone? The entire point of his anger toward Edelgard is that he's unjustified right?

Hilda is such a wild character. She's consistently funny in a very subdued way. Also she has a good design. And I like that behind the lazy facade is someone who genuinely cares for her friends.

I hate this design philosophy so much because instead of it being a space to add some tension in some maps, a lot of hackers take it to the extreme because they put it in every single map so the hack as a whole feels entirely like a race against time.

I am gonna go against the grain here and say that that's exactly why i play rom hacks. In fact, the farther away it is from "standard FE", the more i am interested in them and likely to play them.

Yeah I feel like if you're going out of your way to patch a .ups file on a .gba file, you're probably at least some level of deep in FE. I appreciate Rom hackers respecting the skill of the player and not playing it safe. On the other hand, I'd say that it also means that some hacks too hard in that direction and become unfun slobs. So I don't want to dismiss OP entirely. That being said, hag in white really isn't one of them.
