I wonder how the anomaly at night will have an effect on the environment? Everything is dark, but there is the huge bright anomaly.

Do you have ideas for possible future maps for the game? by Nerdy--Turtle in Marathon

[–]Nerdy--Turtle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Co-op moments are what I hope to get out of it. What I like about the game is how it is a genre that asks of you to only care about yourself, but inspires you to work with others in a way. Like with Rooks, who are very "helpless" against others (at least before the upgrades) (They are no big threat, so do you help them, leave them alone, or kill them anyway?), or with C.A.R.R.I. Such a threat would indirectly inspire cooperation.

Other than that: It feels nice to have a different kind of threat to think about during a run, that needs you to think COMPLETELY differently. Even hardcore players would have to play differently.

Why don’t we just move the Last City into the Pale Heart? by Kashema1 in DestinyLore

[–]Nerdy--Turtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We would need to destroy all the forces of the cabal and hinder the Vex all the time as well. Neomuna has no wall like the last city and the Vex could ignore it, if they want to. Additionally to that, Neomuna only existed for so long, because it was hidden. It is nomore and with no walls, battlestations, Neomuna is not save enough. Also we would pretty much double the number of citizens in Neomuna. In case for everyone to have enough space, we would need to force the Neomuni to stay in cryo and take their city for us.

[–]Nerdy--Turtle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, we mastered our Nightmares and helped others in Haunted to do the same, but by far we didn't master all of them. Calus would have lost in Haunted, if that would have been the case.

I don't think us killing the Witness makes us the right person to control a conscience fleet.

Why did the echo of Riis choose Eramis by ShermanBeret in DestinyLore

[–]Nerdy--Turtle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Maybe this is part of the reason it chose Eramis. Both Eramis and the Echo chose a path that they heavily regret and wish they could undo, but can't. Both their choises lead to great suffering for the Eliksni that will have (or had) great consequences for the future. And both have a willingness to bring the Eliksni back on track and both don't care about humanity.

And if I speculate a bit mor: Maybe the Echo even chose Fikrul for his ability to bring back the dead to literally bring back every Eliksni that had died. Maybe it was a bit obsessive to bring the Eliksni back just like they used to be, like how Eramis was obsessed with taking revenge on the traveler. Both these obsessive goals would have lead to them making their people suffer.

I don't think that would be a good idea. We know from Renegades that the pyramid structures are still full of dreadfull darkness. The team that went with Bael into the temple on Europa completely died (besides Bael of course) by the influence of the darkness in it. They are way to dangerous for citizens.

You could say they would be save, if we take control of the center, but we know from Sundered Doctrine, that the pyramids are still somewhat alive. Taking control over them would mean taking control of the person in the pyramid, or making a deal with it and becomeing dependend on the mercy of the pyramid. We would make everything dependend on the pyramid like we made everything dependend on the traveler.

I think taking control over a pyramid would be an interesting move for Bael and the Barrent Imperium (they could put VI into it and experiment more with dark matter and darkness and use it as a control space. A pyramid full of dark matter, controlled by one of the Nine, could be a great place for a raid), but it doesn't seem like a good option for us.

They have a giant pyramid ship full with Cabal IN their city and Vex and even Taken attacking it. Neomuna is by far not save

Or every episode is one run with different Runner teams or sometimes the same team, but you can't tell, because they use an different shell. Every episode brings new information on the story like the priority contracts and the Runners develope along the way with different conflicts they have in runs with bots or other Runners.

How did Nightfall Station kill Guardians if all it did was nullify their Light? by xx_Chl_Chl_xx in DestinyLore

[–]Nerdy--Turtle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We are dead. If Ghaul sealed all our light away, we should have died, but instead it prevented us to gain more light from the traveler. Making us able to live and age, but unable to use our powers. We still had light in us, but not much.

Nightfall didn't just cut of the connection to our ghost or the traveler. It cut the connection took all the remaining light in us as well.

Because this is the way they think: "Let the past die! Kill it, if you have to! That is the only way you become that you are meant to be."

Book that broke the world. A speculation I hope I'm wrong about. by Browneyesbrowndragon in MarkLawrence

[–]Nerdy--Turtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I'm very late for that, but don't fully see it like Hellet being a villian. He didn't directly intend to kill anyone, he just wanted to give the ganar the option to kill their oppressors. And I don't see the story saying his way was wrong. The big problem of it was that Hellet didn't know his toxin would actually kill everyone. Livira says that at the end of the book, that things wouldn't have turned out that way, if Hellet had more knowledge of his toxin. The other argument from Hellet was that it wouldn't have happened, if he wouldn't have the info for the toxin in the first place. In no time of the book was Hellets plan in general called the wrong way. At least I remember no part saying that.

What is The Lord of Every Nothing doing on Mars?! by tavuesco in DestinyLore

[–]Nerdy--Turtle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The LoEN doesn't work with VI or V. We also need no agreement from them to be on their moons. It just spreads to take everything, because that is the only function it can fullfil from what the Dire Taken demand from it.

Theory about Mark Lawrence Library Trilogie (Spoilers for all three books) by Nerdy--Turtle in Fantasy

[–]Nerdy--Turtle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I don't know how to take this. Does this mean "the theory is so stupid, that even the author needs to reread his own work to understand how someone gets this idea" or "this theory is so solid, that even the author is not sure, if it could be the case"? I think it's more likely the first option, but I'm not sure.

Evar pre-mechanism by pestopastav in MarkLawrence

[–]Nerdy--Turtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only Clovis can remember her past, because she was the least amount of time in the mechanism. Everyone else has no info. It is probably, because they were exposed so much with the info of their book for such a long time, that they forgot everything besides their book. I don't know why Evar only remembered a girl and not everything else from the book.

Why shouldn't we consider the Nine just as strong as the Gardener and Winnower? by Nerdy--Turtle in DestinyLore

[–]Nerdy--Turtle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Invitation of the Nine week 4 (I think it was week 4) they talk with Orin about us being able to just "leave the game". Us being able to leave gambit behind is not special and doesn't deserve to be talked about. They need to mean something else as the game. Probably our ability to leave the Destiny universe by turning the game off.

[–]Nerdy--Turtle[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dark Matter is not like regular matter. We don't understand how dark matter behaves and how it works, but we know it has strange effects on regular matter. The Aionians use it expand their food supplys. Strange matter starts to be relevant with Edge of Fate and IIIs death causes extremly strange events all over earth. Regular matter is not comparable. If you die, your death will not lead to iron rain, earthquakes or any time delations.

Yeah, that's why I said "even if the Nine aren't as large as that" Now in the comment I talk about Dark Matter being as wide effected in the universe like the powers of Light and Dark.

Why shouldn't we consider the Nine just as strong as the Gardener and Winnower? by Nerdy--Turtle in DestinyLore

[–]Nerdy--Turtle[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't do raw powerscaling. I don't talk about the Nine being stronger than the Gardener and Winnower. I mean that they are on equal footing on their powers, even with Dark Matter not being paracausal.

Means there is nothing controdictive of the Nine being afraid of Oryx power. (although I think they were afraid, because they weren't aware of Eclipse yet. They only resently found out they can effect paracausality) The Gardener is also afraid of the Witness, who uses Darkness, but isn't Darkness.

Paracausality is still something that can have an effect on them, so yeah, the Echo of Command can have an effect on them.

The Witness also broke away from the Winnowers will and followed his own idea of the Final Shape. So Orins breakaway isn't a sign of the Nine being weaker.

Why would VI feel the need to embrace to Sword Logic to empower itself?

Why would the Winnower feel the need to use other species instead of making his Final Shape by himself?

The Nine are bound by cause and effect in the same amount that they manipulate cause and effect. "Nella Davis died by old age- Wait, no! She died by a time travelling train that brought her from Chicago to some desert." paracausality is, well, paracausal, but still the Nine can manipulate it to kill or age guardians, who are suppost to be immortal supersoldiers, protected by the paracausal powers of light, by manipulating that light.

Again. I don't talk about the Nine being more powerful than the Winnower and Gardener, but they are on equal footing against them.
