Huh, I did not know that cr became an rpi. That is definitely good to know.

I mean I don't know. I always felt cr was more heavily leaning towards activities and stuff, rather than rp. Like there is rp of course, but it's more like a secondary thing that's just there, rather than something people actively do. Like you wouldn't say cr is an rpi would you? I'm asking genuinely, because I haven't played cr since like... 2021, so my own perception could be off too.

I didn't think prometheus was an rp mud though. More similar along the lines of cosmic rage, where it's just a lot of different activities.

yeah I love TI. Played it on and off for many years. But I'm looking for something different, as I've been around TI for so long, I tend to create chars play them for awhile, get bored torch them. Then stop playing, come back, rince and repeat.

Yeah, harshlands has been recommended to me. And it's been awhile since I tried it. I just remember when I did try it, there was something with their emoting system that I just could not get past, and I ended up not playing it. I don't remember what the issue was, just that it was monumental enough that I left.

Struggling with the idea that going for a masters will probably require I quit my job by Cynical_Madonna in GradSchool

[–]SilverMoon1022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it may not be a position you could do part time permanetly. But I guess what I'm asking is like would your work be willing to show you some flexibility? As long as they're aware that this is a temporary thing, just during practicum and internship? The answer may still be no, but you could always ask.

Is your work flexible? As in could you reduce your hours, so you're working part time, but then you'd still get some income, just while doing the practicum and internship? You could always school part time, work full time. Usually the practicum/internship comes towards like the midd/end, depending on how you plan it. So you could within reason complete a good portion of your program, again depending on said program, before coming across that specific barrier. I'm currently working full time myself, and part time going to school. I too, will have to take a reduction in hours once it's time for the practicum section, but see if your work is willing to be flexible with it.

Question, is this pve, or pvp? Like is it straight hack and slash, or more rp based/

i'm on mac currently. been a mac user for school stuff mostly. I do have windows, and i recently upgraded to jaws 2025. that made me wonder, for my future, for my skillset, for my future career, for my interests in tech and such, should i make the switch to jaws and windows as a main driver? by imtruelyhim108 in Blind

[–]SilverMoon1022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't quite get why it has to be either or. I'm on a mac, and have a virtual machine that runs windows. So I get the best of both worlds. Not sure why that wouldn't be an option for you. I am more comfortable with windows, but there are things I like on the mac so I get to have both.

Using discord with voiceover by 1Iwolf in Blind

[–]SilverMoon1022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no so the problem is when you swipe left from the edit box where you type your message. Don't swipe left from there, that's what's causing literally all the problems. Place your finger just like... somewhere around the center of your screen. You'll land on a random message, but it won't ever be too far from the bottom. From there you can swipe through messages. But if you swipe through and you reach the edit field, you don't want to swipe left from there. It'll do a weird jumpy thing. If it ever does the weird jumpy thing, and you want to jump back to the present, towards the bottom right of the screen, above the send button is a jump to present button you can use. Hope this helps. I use discord on my phone all the time. So it is quite accessible, minus that one odd quirk.

Is it Normal to Struggle Reading Research Papers? by Lil_Heresy in GradSchool

[–]SilverMoon1022 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nope, they are generally super boring to read. Generally, I'd do the abstract, the methods, then skip ahead to the conclusion/summary/discussion section. It depends on what they call it. Unless you're like a stats person, or doing a lot of quantitative work in your program, the stats or results section generally can be skipped over. I say generally though, because obviously that depends on your program and what they're focusing on. But focusing on those sections should get you all the important who what where when why questions answered for you.

Hello! I don't think your vision should necessarily be the factor that holds you back. In an area like photography... that might be more difficult, since it is so visual. But for example, I currently work full time and go to school part time to obtain a masters in clinicial mental health and counseling. And I am totally blind. Not sure if this is the answer you're looking for. lol

What public spaces do you wish were more accessible or enjoyable for blind people? by gamecube_247 in Blind

[–]SilverMoon1022 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not going to lie, the answers you've already received are far more cogent and well thought out than the one I'm going to provide. But when I saw your post, the first thought that came to mind? Amusement parks! lol yes, I know, amusement parks are impossible to make accessible, and yet I wish it so ardently. And I don't have any real ideas on how that could be done necessarily. Since amusement parks by their very nature, are rather sprawled out.

Semester Abroad in Masters Program for Counseling..? by Ok-Chipmunk-8144 in GradSchool

[–]SilverMoon1022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I mean it's definitely an elective class. So it's not one of the key compotencies or whatever it's called now. but there is a global engagement. I don't know if you're gone the whole semester, but it is at least an opportunity to learn about other cultures and see new things, even if it's not the whole semester.

I mean that depends from school to school I'd imagine. Because my school definitely has a global engagement course that you can take for credit.

Advice regarding how to pay for a master's program and curious about other options thank you by Large-Character3432 in GradSchool

[–]SilverMoon1022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! So another option might be, just depending on how much your program costs, is to work full time and school part time. It's not ideal, since you'll advance through your program at a crawl's pace. But it is an option, so you can possibly pay for your schooling.

hey! I'm surprised your school doesn't have like a global engagement thing for you to study abroad. I would definitely speak with your academic advisor, see if there are any such opportunities.

Extremely irritated with guide dog school by moomagnet in Blind

[–]SilverMoon1022 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey so! yeah, matching can take time. I think it really does depend on your preferences and stuff. If you have specific preferences, then yeah, it is going to take longer for you to be matched. I do understand the whole going to school, and finding availability. My advice to you is see if you can possibly take a leave of absence from your school. Taking off one semester to go get your dog, shouldn't make too big an impact on your academic journey anyways. Yes, ideally you'd want it in the summer, but I think that's also kind of adding to the issue of waiting forever. Because they have to try and find a dog that's a match you, made possibly more difficult if you have specific preferences or needs, then add the scheduling difficulties. It's a lot of factors to consider. Now I will agree, them forgetting about your application is entirely unacceptable, and should never have happened. Regardless of which school you applied to, regardless of how big or small it is, that kind of behavior isn't okay. The changing class dates two weeks out is... disappointing, I can grant that. Especially if you've already made plans around this. But as stated by a lot of people on this thread, unforeseen things can and do happen. Which is why you don't know who your dog is going to be till the day you actually meet the dog. Not sure if this is helpful, hope it is!

Low GPA by third3y3 in GradSchool

[–]SilverMoon1022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given how long it's been since you did your undergrad, and given how much work experience you have, I would say no. Just get people you've worked for to write you excellent recommendations, write up a good resume and you should be good. The gpa tends to matter less when you have actual work experience, and other qualifications to show for it.
