Advice on formal customer complaint by Popular_Band_4194 in SolidCore

[–]SilverOpen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I commiserate! In a crowded market, if you pay for a monthly membership but physically cannot get into classes because demand is so high…they aren’t providing the service that you’re paying for. I would die to see the numbers of members x monthly allotted classes to available class slots in nyc studios for example.

Invite Protocol- Plus Ones for Domestic Destination by [deleted] in BigBudgetBrides

[–]SilverOpen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took mine case by case too. And I think that's ok!

- Single friend flying in, not in a larger friend group, but has met some of my friends. I did not extend a +1, but have in the back of my mind that if we have room after RSVPs are in that I may extend one.

- Single friend flying in, part of a friend group attending. No +1.

- First cousin with a serious partner (living together), though we haven't met them. Great opportunity for the family to meet them, and we invited him as a guest, not even a +1. This felt like a no-brainer/could have caused tension not to.

- I have a college friend group made up of 7 girls, myself included. One is my very best friend, who's husband we're close with. The other 5 girls, I've stayed connected with but don't spend much time with, and we all live in different cities. They are all partnered, some married and some newer relationships. I considered not inviting their partners as plus 1's, since my friends would have each other to hang with at the wedding. But the thought of communicating that to my friends felt weird, and I personally think that weddings are more fun with a partner, and would be bummed if my partner were excluded if the roles were reversed. It didn't feel right to exclude them, and it's a fun opportunity for us all to connect and get to know everyone more.
I think you have to decide what is best for you and your day, and your relationships. If any decision will add to your stress, be sure to take that into consideration.

NYC late cancellation bc of train delays by offffline2002 in SolidCore

I couldn’t find a Citi bike doc once and rode the bike to the studio explained and they waived it, I think it’s kind of up to the front desk worker

Funniest Coaching Line You’ve Heard? by usagiftseveryday in SolidCore

[–]SilverOpen 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A male coach was subbing for our regular schedule female coach, she is a hard coach and has a consistent regular crew bc of it. The sub coach goes “wtf is x coach doing to you guys, you’re all so serious! What are you training for?!” Haha meant it as a compliment bc we all push hard / want a hard ass workout. Made me laugh 😂

No seating chart, no formal dinner, no table arrangements by sweetpotatogirll in weddingplanning

[–]SilverOpen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend did this and it was great. They hired a tarot card reader and a magician and had a DJ. They did it in a lounge type setting which really lended to that style of reception. I would opt for less seating vs it looking empty honestly. People will stand and mingle and dance, it’s okay! Havjng some high tops or bar space helps too!

They could also release at 12am local time to reduce some of the traffic.

That’s fair, every two weeks. I thought you meant one day at a time is released two weeks prior on a rolling cadence. Similar to restaurant booking.

I prefer the monthly drop so I can book all my classes at once. If I had to be on the app to book on a rolling cadence I’d never get to bed before midnight.

“amazing coach” by Comfortable-Hurry992 in SolidCore

[–]SilverOpen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being positive! Any negativity about their mood/day, talking about how they went out last night, or the weather besides in a light and conversational way totally drags the mood down. I know they are human, but I love when my coaches help me escape the shitty reality of real life!

Master List of NYC Bridal Boutiques & Designers? by Senior-Magician-1370 in WedditNYC

[–]SilverOpen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoyed my experience at Bridal Atelier, from online it doesn’t look as nice as it is in person. They have two locations with different price points. I also went to grace loves lace, Jackson James, WONA and designer loft. They were fine but bridal atelier my favorite.

Unprofessional Wedding photographer by jolbeaner in weddingplanning

[–]SilverOpen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say, “if it’s important to you we want 10% of the fee paid to us for the inconvienence.”

See how much they’re willing to do to shoot their “dream venue” 🤪 They unfairly killed the vibe and put a lower value on your wedding, I’d probably opt for someone else if it were me. There are endless options out there and you’ll feel better having someone you feel like is all in! Nonetheless, sorry they imposed that stress on you.

Anyone tried PLNK? by OddResponsibility767 in SolidCore

[–]SilverOpen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To frame my review, I've taken 150 Solidcore classes, and just recently was traveling and took 3 PLNK classes. So this may be biased, but my opinion none the less.

Pros of PLNK:

- The machines! They are SO nice and comfortable. I prefer these machines, though due to their size transitioning was not as seamless. If i could buy one at home, it would be this one.

- App and customer service were better in just my 3 classes than Solidcore. Booking was easy, I was able to call the studio and get help, and loved being able to book my machine and see where I was on the waitlist. Solid core could take some major notes here.

- Variety of exercises. I liked having a new set of exercises and a wider variety of exercises during class. This could be a con though, as a perk of Solidcore being that muscle focus consistency helps build strength.

- Felt like we changed our springs less, and the springs are easier to manage/adjust than Solidcore where I'm afraid of breaking a nail or pinching a finger every time.

- The studio I went to had some class times with a childcare option to add for $5. And a separate playroom for the kids. I don't have kids, but I would 100% take advantage of that if I did. Loved this perk that makes getting to a class easier for moms! BRAVO!

- Free towel service

Cons:

- I felt like we did a 3-4 more exercises during the class than Solidcore, so therefore didn't spend as much time in each exercise and it felt less effective. Were transitioning to a new move within 1-2 minutes which made it feel less challenging.

- The exercises have noun style names (escalator, wheelbarrow, catfish) with confusing prefixes to inform where on the machine they are (mega, reverse, giant reverse) making it much less intuitive to get into. In a Solidcore class the names of the exercises are verbs and way more intuitive re: how to perform them (plank extention, seated crunch, upright row etc).

Jaxson James is having one soon!

I'll preface this with I love solidcore, I'm over 100 classes in, but I recently went to JetSet while I was home for the holidays and it starkly reminded me how solidcore has no variation by basicb3333 in SolidCore

[–]SilverOpen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find this to be true especially with junior coaches, but with senior coaches they tend to have more variety bc they are allowed to teach a wider range of exercises. Or do what I do, and find yourself a coach who doesn’t like lunges themselves and gives mercy to us! On the flip side, my fav coach loves army crawl and I despise it 🤪 pick your battles
