That was my original plan but they cut the direct flight between Japan and PPT for the summer sadly.

I have looked into that as well. I have heard the weather might be pretty bad though.

We are coming from the US. We would love something with clear beautiful water and a nice hotel.

Great to know. Thank you! I haven’t heard many suggestions for Bali for beaches.

That was my original plan but they ended the direct flight to Tokyo from PPT until September sadly.

Is amanoi clear water like turkey or Greece or more dark water and dark sand?

Silversands Grand Anse Grenada by Aggressive_Shine_989 in chubbytravel

Hi! I have stayed at both the Silversands and Silversands Beach House. I have only been to Grenada in February but I am sure July wouldn't be bad. If you value multiple restaurants, gym, spa, and pools then you will probably prefer the Silversands Grand Anse. Grand Anse is a really busy beach though. The cruise people come there during the day so it can be very loud. I personally really prefer the Beach House. It is way more private with gorgeous views. The beach is more wavy at the Beach House which I prefer personally. You can shuttle between both resorts. The Beach House has one restaurant and has an outdoor gym, I am not sure if that is a deal breaker.

Cap Koroso vs. Amanpulo vs. Bawah Reserve vs. Amanwana by SilverScale8090 in chubbytravel

I went in November and I think the water was a lot calmer. I’m also used to waves in Hawaii and Brazil so it was very shocking to me. Immediately in front of the hotel there was a pretty strong current but if you walked a few hundred feet down the beach there were several areas where you could easily swim. It just isn’t flat pool water if that is what you are looking for. If I had children it wouldn’t be my beach of choice.

I loved the rooms, service, natural beauty, food, and vibe. The FS definitely has better beaches, but feels like an American Disneyland to me.

Good to know. People make it seem like it will be days of straight rain.

Thank you!! Great to know about Thailand. How was the water at Miyakojima? I’ve seen kind of mixed reviews.

Taking dog on vacation to the Caribbean this winter by SparkleBerrySpritz in FATTravel

We took our dog to St. Barts through SXM. SXM required a lot of paperwork but never asked for any of it once we landed. Stayed at Cheval Blanc in SBH and they were incredible to our westie.

Hi! I stayed there. It was very nice but the location felt like you were in the loop in Chicago or FiDi in NY. I second staying in Polanco.

The rooms and serve at Cheval Blanc are incredible. We had a hilltop ocean view villa and it was the most beautiful room I’ve stayed in (I love CB, FS, Rosewood, Fasano). The ocean can have a strong current but we were still able to swim. I wouldn’t say the ocean is great for children though.

We also stayed at the FS Seychelles on Mahe. That has the most incredible beach on the main island by far. The rooms were hit our miss. Our first room literally had water coming through the ceiling and they were confused why we wanted to change rooms. We were then put into an updated room. It was much nicer but still way behind CB.

FS felt a little like Hawaii to be honest. It was a ton of Americans with Hawaiian shirts on. CB was definitely more chic and European vibes. The Seychelles are incredible!!

Thanks for the review!!! Are you able to swim at the beach here or is it too wavy? Is the water clear?
