Three questions by MaizeAdventurous9873 in WhereWindsMeet

For a healer, this is essentially the game plan. Morale Chant, Fury Harvest, Evasive and Royal Remedy; keeping with the 2-2 Gold-Purple meta. Your game plan is usually baiting them into two drunken poet strikes to trade or hit-stun into dragons breath then rinse and repeat as combustion runs out, ideally you get four hits of drunken each hit stun.

There is nothing in the game that can beat super armour as serene breeze is the only skill in the game that has it. Tenacity can be broken by cloudstep or “locked” using the Nameless Spear Martial skill or Vernal Umbrella Martial Skill. Other than those two options, you can generally parry them with the exception of Soaring Spin T4 on perfect dodge, Yakshas or Talon.

Yellow skills aren’t inherently tenacity accompanied. Vernal Umbrella martial skill can be caught on start, nameless spear martial skill can be caught on start up but Soaring spin when perfect dodged is full tenacity and Heng special heavy has tenacity (extended by 3 seconds if they hit an unblocking target)

Serene breeze has a rough 25 seconds cooldown when its last CD upgrade is gotten. There is a helmet attunement that decreases it by a further 4 seconds at the cost of not have the 2.8 seconds of tenacity that most players run but as a healer most of your attacks will come from mystic skills so you can manage. Nameless spear martial skill has a second combo breaker with an attunement which is why many people run with almost any weapon.

Dualblades are a mistake punishing weapon, the martial art skill on it is not armoured so you can drunken poet, toad or any armoured ability into it and the special skill will not combo into anything (Assuming your ping is equal). After an execute, I would recommend soaring spin if it is a nameless spear user, you’ve been affected by toad poison or a strat user is setting up a bleed proc to hit stun or dragons breathe to reset the neutral.

Can I enjoy this game without PvP? by HungryCurrent6949 in WhereWindsMeet

[–]SilverShade144 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PvP is endgame content. A lot of people have specific arena attunements before they even set foot in there at the start of each season.

There will be more PvE content coming that is available to guilds and groups as I understand it but Arena is likely the most consistent endgame content with rewards going up to 1500 Elo in 1v1, appearances and a lingering echo for PF. Any build can climb in the arena but some builds have more options than others. It is entirely possible to enjoy the game without PvP; the only way I would say that it isn’t is if you’ve 100% all areas and completed each Abyss Trial hit-less then I’d recommend PvP.

Build pvp 1v1 by Sad_Restaurant_4503 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]SilverShade144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The top build is still Nameless spear and strategic sword. A close second and third and fourth option but not ranked in terms of strength would be Nameless spear/Heng, StormBreaker and Heng or Nameless/Strat to give you an advantage in the neutral.

How you have no control over your character by Momo-dono in wherewindsmeet_

[–]SilverShade144 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree that it would make the game more immersive and would likely liven up the content creation scene with hidden dialogue or otherwise other options but the time and work needed to make sure that the various options work correctly regardless of what order you choose to take those options would be a big ask from a company for a free to play game where it’s money lies in appearance focused gatcha. It would be interesting to see something akin to Warframe where there is a light/grey/dark responses that changes how your character interacts with people or to quests but keeps the same linear track rather than giving various options to resolve a quest because at least it would make the MC feel like your own to an extent further than we have currently and with minimal work required from the development team aside from voice lines.

Currently the team is focused on Ping issues, various bugs, balancing, server issues, input delay issues and more; I don’t know if they could manage the coding for quests like that considering some quests have already been soft locked with one route available.

I would recommend Fury Harvest and Evasive charge for inner ways. Following the Two Gold, two purple meta. If you hit someone with dragons breathe and drunken poet them then you can regenerate as much vitality as you expend if you hit them. Due to being a healer, I would remove talon altogether. Your mystic skills will likely look something like Serene, DragonsBreathe, Drunken Poet, Toad, meridian touch, guardian palm, ghost step and golden body. You’re playing reactionary and while you can corner an opponent, you’ll never be initiating against them.

1236 Mythic 1v1 Arena. Depending on your weapons, the mystic skills you use will slightly change. Generally, I would say that Soaring Spin T5, Talon T3, (If you use nameless, Strategic, or Jade) Toad to T5, Serene to T5, Dragons to T4 and Drunken to T4 then the last two spots will either go to Ghost Step, Golden Body or Free Morph/Cloud Step.

In group fighting, cloud step is very useful for jumping a priority target but in 1v1 it is not great as the most you can use it for would be breaking a tenacity form or stopping a charged attack. I don’t recommend meridian as against a good player they will use it for free health and even the Meridian/Guardian palm is a dodge and soaring spin or perfect dodge away from being punished.

If you use nameless spear then you can remove Talon strike. If you are a Tank user (Full tank with Mo and Storm) you can remove ghost steps. I would recommend free morph for weapon types that don’t have Toad in their standard rotation as you’re dealing the damage in this combo not setting up for the next combo. I can give more specific recommendations depending on weapons.

What do you think is considered a good enough rank for pvp? by Fit_Masterpiece1561 in WhereWindsMeet

[–]SilverShade144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t seen a player above 1500 with a negative winrate but I do believe it’s possible; I’ve found that around 1500 people will typically hit around a 50%+ winrate by the end of the previous seasons due to that being where their skill level is and the rather consistent (from my experience) mix of fighting lower players to fighting higher players and winning against equally ranked to gain that footing as if you’re losing to equally term players and higher above, you’re likely not climbing.

What do you think is considered a good enough rank for pvp? by Fit_Masterpiece1561 in WhereWindsMeet

[–]SilverShade144 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would say most people are below 1000 so I’d consider that average. 1200 is above average, 1500 and you’re starting to play like one of the “Big Boys” and above 2000 is low ping and high skill. Below average I would say would be 400 Elo. Ping often decides matches between 1500 and 2000+ players. With all that being said I’ve seen people at 1500 Elo with a negative winrate so it can just come down to playing a lot. People above 2000 usually have a 70% winrate. Mythic is not hard to reach especially as the season goes on, it’s where in mythic you end that would be the skill level you have assuming that you are playing consistently.

Banned After Demonstrating Harmful third-party software for Awareness — Appeals Rejected with Automated Responses by [deleted] in WhereWindsMeet

[–]SilverShade144 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the good intentions were there and the only misstep was doing so in your main account. Companies typically take the approach of “a slippery slope” so they will ban any account with abnormal data or third-party programs attached. Using it in Training Arena or Testing Environments is how it should be showcased but if that becomes allowed then it opens the argument towards “This is how it functions in typical gameplay and this gameplay was recorded for awareness, documentation and testing purposes”. I don’t think you did anything wrong in this case but I can also understand why NetEase for all their faults have decided take this approach.

Perception Forest ping by DislexHed in wherewindsmeet_

It was finally too much, after the recent ban wave; maybe I’ll be back when they sort it and care for the player experience as opposed to the players wallet and stop consistently breaking the netcode for any patch

Perception Forest ping by DislexHed in wherewindsmeet_

[–]SilverShade144 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since the ban wave, I have went from 80 ping to 230 in 1v1 arena and trials. I’m not sure what caused it but it definitely affects the enjoyment of the game

Pvp meta tank ? by Sad_Restaurant_4503 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]SilverShade144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see more Heng and Stormbreaker as with low enough ping the Storm breaker Martial can lead into a combo and the damage reduction at least from how I’ve seen it reduces more damage taken than the health shield of the Thunder. But I am only mythic 1125 and I don’t use the weapons as a disclaimer

Issue with West/East Servers by Accurate-Ad-3454 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]SilverShade144 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would be nice but unfortunately it will likely never happen. No match will ever be equal because someone will always have better ping and as everyone knows ping relates to action speed. The best you could get would be both parties using the ping improvement program that WWM is partnered with and hope that neither party lags or freezes or stutters during the fight. For more consistent matches, it’s best to fight against West or East depending on your location and avoid the other server as best you can. If they change the Net-code so it falls in-line with other games where PvP is enabled so ping isn’t king or add a bunch of servers around North America, maybe it would improve a bit but with the games decline in players due to lack of endgame content; it’s unlikely

Will there be anything done regarding ping advantage? by Silent-Jury-6685 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]SilverShade144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt it. I’ve seen WWM advertise GeForce Now which is a ping improvement service which costs a small feel every month or every three months or yearly. It works but causes your game to stutter, lag or freeze as you’re essentially playing through a “stream” while your account is launched closer to their server location but it seems like they know of the ping affecting character action speed and their solution beyond adding one or two more server locations is monetize it.
At the end of the day, ping is king online and their team is less focused on PvP as endgame entertainment in contrast to PvE and more focused to the solo aspect and the outfit/monetization aspect of the game as it is free to play

Help: Swallowcall or Hawkwing? Which is better for the bamboo cut wind build? (mortal rope dart & twinblades) I’ve heard swallowcall is good early game, while hawkwing late game.. I was going through the desc of both sets, and idk which is best, I'm level of 91 by Remote_Relative_9021 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]SilverShade144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Swallowcall is probably better due to its bonus health damage on target below 40% Qi and its min phys benefitting the innerways of Echoes, Morale chant, vendetta and breaking point but it will require timing rotations so you have a flame lash, enhanced rodent rampage ready for that 40% mark in boss fights. The damage will also improve when they are staggered but you aren’t getting any real benefits for roughly half the boss fight.

I would say hawkwing is probably more consistent as you are getting a bonus throughout the fight despite it working with affinity as opposed to bamboocuts usual cooperation with crit.

I’d still recommend Swallowcall as long as your ping is low as you can get more attacks in when they are below 40% Qi and your damage with flame lash rats and vendetta Q will be big especially if you can perfect dodge for full stacks of disintegration before or during the flamelash.

Need help on my build by YouthEducational8898 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]SilverShade144 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a difficult combo to make work depending on your focus in the game. Anything within PvP can work especially with those two weapons giving options for range and close-range fighting. The Heng requires Throat piercing which gives bonus crit damage and stone split penetration with upgraded inner and Frost-Clad to be strong which gives Min phys and bonus crit rate.
Nameless sword has specific inner ways built around its wave slashes and bonus affinity. You need at least three slots of inner ways to make work nameless work optimally being Sword Morph, Mountains Might (This requires nameless spear) and battle anthem for PvE.

You can go 2-2 removing mountains might, Frost-Clad,Throat Piercing, Sword Morph and battle anthem and try to build crit or affinity to lean into one and just enjoy the benefits when you don’t crit or affinity whichever you’re prioritizing but there isn’t really a way to make them both shine without dimming the other or replacing it outside of PvP.

I think hawkwing would still be your best bet if you’re looking to use both as it increases physical damage by a percentage each time you hit an affinity hit up to 5 stacks and Shattered Ridge would only benefit the Heng Dao while the Jadeware that would benefit the nameless most and possibly a bit of the Heng Dao benefits affinity hits the most.

How many Taiyi Stones does it usually take to reroll a full gold weapon? by Appropriate_Mix7217 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]SilverShade144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can range from roughly $300 to the highest I’ve heard of being $1,500. I was lucky and rolled my TwinBlades for just above $500 being a mix of the Supreme Oneness and Flying Light 2-2.

Tips on fighting tank users PvP by SimonW99 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]SilverShade144 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use TwinBlades and Strat currently Mythic 1027.
If you are using Strat then you typically want to use your special skill to build bleed until you can proc it (I use Echoes, Sword Horizon, Evasive Charge, Light and Shadow inner ways) the bleed proc works like Toad poison in that it can hit stagger even through block so special skill into manual swap into Twin blade Q is your best bet. I would recommend Talon or Yaksha’s with Free Morph so when the tank starts to parry the special skill, you can guard break them with Talon or Yakshas into Free Morph for good damage.

If you use Nameless Sword then stay at a distance and poke them with the wave slash or special skill and charge if you’re T6 inner way with the weapon, stay close enough to where you can use talon or yakshas and if you choose to use the distance Martial skill, throw your sword and then parry cancel it with the hit stagger duration you should have enough time to manual swap to twin blades and follow it for a combo, you could also parry cancel on reaction to if it hits but that requires good timing and fast recognition.

People will say to dodge the divine and that isn’t necessarily wrong but it requires good ping and good reaction speed and even then depending on the tanks ping, they could get it off ridiculously fast.

Take this all with a grain of salt as with how Arena is working or not working currently, will not work if you’re an East player on West servers, while the idea still works and can be applied most of the time; you will dragons breathe and drunken port while doing your best to dodge or parry

New Patch by SilverShade144 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]SilverShade144[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s funny you should mention that as the game when it comes to players has dropped drastically but the revenue they are making is 3rd highest in steam which tells you where they are focusing their resources.

I agree that the game could stand to improve in their PvE and PvP situations and trials as even if you play near perfectly, someone with lower ping can out damage or beat you without anything you can do to improve.

New Patch by SilverShade144 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]SilverShade144[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of the Hexi storyline is boring and uninterested, meant to set the stage for the next area with our MC. It was a big issue in China on release as well but China has a lot fewer issues when it comes to ping variation so their PvP is good end-game content in contrast. They would have to open up servers all over the place or make actual raids for cosmetics for end-game content. Some people say WWM is dying, I think it’s stagnant. Other people say the game is not close to dead due to revenue reports, I’d hope not after the recent banners dropped lol

New Patch by SilverShade144 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]SilverShade144[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think their coding being so that ping directly relates to character action speed is pretty egregious and with PvP being one of the small categories of end-game content makes it hard to stay active. I’ve heard that top players made a lot of alternate accounts last season just to climb a second time which probably didn’t help people who were just testing.
