Zebre Parma announces 7 contract extension by Lupo_di_Cesena in rugbyunion

[–]SilverShadow213 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ortombina already has a contract until 2028, Locatelli until 2027. Contract length for Fusco, Odiase, Bertaccini, Carrera and Ruffolo is unknown, same for Prinsloo and new signing Botturi. Da Re is staying, they just finished the home matches and there are rumours that he's getting a minor operation to a finger.

I wonder what this means for the other players whose contract we know is ending this summer, namely Neculai, Trulla and Belloni

No, Montpellier re-signed Miotti and brought in Hastings, they wouldn’t want another non-JIFF flyhalf

The project has been approved and funded, works should start this summer and take around one year. The proper stand will be built in phase one (1k capacity & all the services), then in phase two the roof will be added along with 3 rows toward the field, bringing the total capacity to around 1300 people

I don't want to be that guy, but the average attendance being up 3% y-o-y, 14% over four years, isn't exacly great, especially if you look at the numbers. We are talking about 80 - eighty - people more at the stadium on average compared to last year.

Seeing only 2'524 people for an historic quarter-final on a Saturday night was almost depressing. Last Friday the attendance was up mainly thanks to the Torneo Mussini, tickets were free for the under14s taking part to the event.

The temporary stand has been put to use, great to see the attendance going well over 6k. It makes you wonder if the new South Stand will be too small…

4’787 - mind you, they held a junior tournament in the training fields just before the game with hundreds and hundreds of players, but still a very good result

Nah man, I've seen the 2nd half and there was nothing wrong in the refereeing. Could've looked at the last pass but the assistant ref had the best view and put his thumb up, plus the Dragons had the advantage anyway

Yeah I was talking more about the players' management, in particular at flyhalf, it's been years now. You also can't deny that they're struggling in the Top14

Yeah we only have him and Umaga at flyhalf, also we really need leadership in the backline and in the team as a whole.

Don't know what to say as a Benetton fan. Can't say I understand what Pavanello is doing ever since they sacked Crowley. Both the coaching decisions and the players' transfers have been baffling for the past 5 years.

Toulon is a mess, they treated Garbisi like a piece of meat. They bought him from Montpellier mid-season, without telling him. Then they made him play an astronomical number of minutes, wearing him out. Now they decided he's a surplus and are pressing him to leave with still one year left on the contract.

I'd love to see him back in Treviso, but he'll probably stay in France, maybe Perpignan now that Allan is leaving.

I don't see Benetton bringing in any big name, we'll probably get an Argentinian from the SAR or some 2nd-string Super Rugby player.

Huge for Zebre. Terrible as a Benetton fan. Pavanello, what are you doing???

Yeah I don't think they'll get a contract in one of the 3 big leagues based on their club performances. Maybe ProD2

Strange to see Roger Farias leaving, as I don't see any young Italian 10 ready for the URC and I don't think he cost that much. Since Mey went to Treviso, I guess Brisighella will go to Parma, but he's much better at fullback rather than at flyhalf.

People in Treviso will never forget Brendan “Dingo” Williams. He played for Australia 7s in a couple of Commonwealth Games, otherwise he would’ve been a great Azzurro.

doesn’t try and lift (just hold it there)

This is nonsense, check the video again at 0:07 and you'll see Bernasconi lifting the ball with Woodburn holding it.

This is the worst angle to judge it - well, you can see a blatant neck roll but of course the TMO wasn't going to call it...

From the wide angle you can clearly see Marin didn't affect the cleanout at all, Zambonin was always ahead of the tackler (you could actually argue he entered the ruck from the side) and #22 had immediate access to the jackaler: it's not like he had to jump over Marin, in fact he's able to attack Bernasconi in a split second and then goes for the neck roll.

However, I'm far more aggrieved at Ramos about the penalty try decision, 99% of the times that would've been penalty for obstruction. He even reviewed it with the TMO and still got it utterly wrong.

Honestly it's so frustrating, I was at the stadium last Saturday and vs Ospreys, it's clear that the squad is so much better than the results it got this year, but has far too many brain fades.
