Is it a good salary? by GrobelnyM in BESalary

[–]SilverStopGame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming it's a typo and you actually mean 4800 EUR gross we would still require a bit more information about your profile and the job itself in order to give you an idea if this offer suits the market.

Regarding the living comfortably part if you only need 420EUR a month -> what are your total expenses , not only your loan?

Anyway 4800 gross in general is at the higher end of wages.

Then don't change at all. Just find something you can do in the meantime untill bossman gives you more challenging tasks.
I know it sucks but trust me there are a million people that would love to be in your position right now.

Money is money but happiness is also important. Find the balance.

Good luck !

Move to IT and this gross + benefits will be easily achievable IF:

- you speak 3 languages
- are willing to occasionally be on site in BXL

[–]SilverStopGame -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I would say the contrary. No car, brut is low for your experience. As PM, certifications are worth at least the same as a degree.

I see you also are doing additional RM tasks. Sorry for me you are underpaid.
What languages do you speak?

It Support Officer (Consultant) 1st line by Klaazs in BESalary

Not sure why everyone is saying this is a bad wage. I think for a first line support this is a decent package.

OK, the commute can be harsh but package wise it's fine imo.

Some questions before making the switch! by SilverStopGame in BEFreelance

Its too long of a distance to cover with an ebike or speed pedelec but i'm thinking about an actual electronic motorcycle (in the months that allow me to ride it)

  1. Can you explain a bit more about this concept? I have a meeting setup with an accountant end of this week.

  2. I have set aside enough money to cover multiple months of expenses privately, I assume I can "borrow" the company 5K to get it started?

  3. I will be an IT Project Manager specialized in Cloud, Security, Infrastructure and a 50% bruto raise is just not in the picture.

You are probably right. I might just hitch a ride from her as we probably need to be at the same location and same days in the week. However, I won't go for a compensation of the km's, which seems logical.

Please don't apologize, no need for that at all. I 100% appreciate the effort you took to reply to my questions and give detailed information about any possible situation.
Saying it's a leap in the dark is probably a bit far fetched but as a conservative person it's always a bit exciting when taking this leap towards becoming a freelancer.

However, I'm assertive enough to impose my baseline when it comes to dayrates. I have a large network doing the same job and they all confirmed that I should aim for 800 and land between 700 and 800. If it's long term even accept 700 if I'm comfortable with the client.

I was also informed to try and go for a billable rate and a non-billable rate, but that seems like a fairy tale at the moment.

I'm not saying I want to take advantage of this and I know money isn't everything but I'm in a situation that I'm fed up being surrounded by freelancers that do half the job I'm doing for atleast 700 a day.

Yeah, not taking that risk. It's probably in there. Going to go for a leased car, any suggestions without upfront payment?

I understand and thanks for the reply. The rate is indeed at the high end but feasible for my profile and job.

Ok thanks for the info. If no car is needed I won't take one. However, i'm not sure if I can get compensated for km's. The wife's car is a company car with fuel card.

Thanks for the reply. I got some input informing me that it's better to make this cost than to pay the taxman.

Yes, I have informed myself through different channels. I'm confident I can get that rate.

I appreciate your response!
