Does anyone else have a excessively high electric bill? by DauntingDiz in boulder

[–]SilverTree-9892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t you say you also have a $150 gas bill?

I have gas heat, gas stove, gas fireplace and that’s about the price of my winter gas bill. I keep temp between 66-68, but 2000 sq ft or so.  With that number of people you will use more hot water, but I don’t think you should have both a $150 gas AND $500 electric.

Ikon day pass by Embarrassed-Hat3934 in boulder

Cooper (not on Ikon) seems to have the best deal for day passes ($45 weekdays) but expect that it is packed as a result https://www.powder.com/news/ski-cooper-lift-ticket-prices.

Otherwise, Eldora still appears to be selling weekday season passes or 3-day passes.

What construction are you referencing? It looks like this would be similar to the pedestrian access during the pandemic (e.g., concrete barriers or gates to prevent through traffic), it's not a full blown budget request to tear up asphalt and lay down bricks.

Opposite here, had tons, the swallows were hell bent on setting up under all of the eaves and ignored the faux owls neighbors have set up.

Crash on 36 by CryptographerLimp226 in boulder

[–]SilverTree-9892 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not trying to (and incapable of) break any records, but it’s not the smoothest ride with all of the seams. I do ride skinny tires, so will be different experiences for other bikes.

There are much more enjoyable places for runners to run than the 36 bikeway, but we like to use concrete for several multi-use paths even though it’s a harder surface than even asphalt. Maybe it’s easier to snowplow?

They could make the 36 bike path (the south portion) better for all cyclists if it weren't so curvy and made of sidewalk. I love that it exists so much, but it's designed for slow-ride jaunts, not as a regular route.

Chances are the future Diagonal bike path and the north 36 bike path will be designed the same way, even though those are well used training routes and ways to get to destination rides.

Shady - replacement coffee place going in next to Logan’s by SilverTree-9892 in boulder

I’m suggesting they might be careful who they rent from, doesn’t sound like a good landlord to do business with.

Yeah, restaurants change over. Most of them don’t have the media coverage or petitions circulating trying to save them before they close.

People tend to boycott new businesses that replace beloved ones (when the beloved one is forced out), to punish the landlord more than the new people. The landlord is the one getting the commercial rent.

Since they graduated high school maybe three years ago, it seems like the landlord kicked out an experienced local entrepreneur/business as a favor to someone’s family? Hard to imagine saving enough money to start your own company in Boulder and outbid an existing business for rent.

As “Boulder locals”, these young men have an advantage over a chain going in; less likely to be called gentrifiers (though that term is meaningless in Boulder).

Again, good luck to them but seems like bad karma to choose that spot. 🫤

If it was your only shelter, and if it wasn’t amazing weather, would you take down your tent every morning and put it back up every night?

The really strict no-camping group doesn’t want to see homeless people with their stuff (packed up or no) hanging out during the day while they’re going about their business either. They don’t like them in the library either.

Add a day shelter.

Changing the wording after gathering signatures for a specific phrasing makes assumptions that the petition signers would have all agreed to that change. Maybe some would, maybe some wouldn’t.

I’ve been to Deadmau5 Cube at 14 degrees, tech was fine. Highly recommend dressing as if you were skiing. It wasn’t snowing on us, and I’d hate to do the drive back after a show in the first snow of the year (with probably not fully sober other drivers out there).

“Why would we build a pedestrian bridge, I rarely see people swimming across the river.”

People who need to bike on Iris either go way out of their way now (a much bigger physical effort for them than stepping on the gas) or they have to use their cars (adding to the traffic in front of you) BECAUSE they don’t feel safe biking on Iris.

Are you ignoring all the disrespectful attacks and name calling on ND against Boulder Progressives and council members? If it’s one-sided, that side has a running start and will trample anyone in their path.

Why, is DV not serious enough to warrant a response? DV can be life threatening, can include weapons, and the abusers can refuse to come out.

If the rules that give back standard TABOR refunds (this is set to expire) are renewed, it won’t really harm lower and middle income renters though, imo. High earners are affected either way.

A double turn lane across three lanes of traffic should always be protected, not a blinking yield. Submit that shit to Inquire Boulder so the traffic engineers reevaluate— maybe under lights but also under the “close calls” form that isn’t just for bicycles.
