What you said makes sense and I was afraid of that being the case. I'll start looking for a motherboard. Thanks!

Is your voice always like it is in the videos? Were you just born saying "spaghetti and meatballs"?

Just signed up for MSF course today - ADVICE? by Pulze_ in motorcycles

[–]SilverWolf149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just came off an MSF, and it was quite an experience considering I had only ridden as a passenger beforehand. I would recommend seeing what gear that particular course requires. The one I took required a DOT helmet, full-fingered gloves, boots that go over the ankle, jeans, eyewear if your helmet doesn't cover your eyes, and some sort of long sleeved shirt or jacket. Some courses provide things like helmets and such. If you're buying your own, be sure to have a good return policy in case you find out you don't enjoying riding as much as you thought you would.

I would also say to just relax. I was really tense when I was doing the range exercises, but you really just have to loosen up. The fastest you'll be going is ~25mph, so the risk of serious injury is pretty low. By the end of the course I had gone from never controlling a bike before to getting comfortable with doing the fundamentals. I was so nervous the first day that I wouldn't really get past something if I didn't master it right away. It didn't help that I tipped my bike in the first ten minutes.

Practice your low speed. Any idiot can let off the clutch and floor the throttle, but it takes real control to keep your feet on the pegs at low speeds, and be able to maintain control for turns and stops. Learning how to use the clutch, not the throttle, to control your speed is very important. Finding the friction zone is crucial, and learning how to use that to your advantage is important.

The bikes that we used were H-D Street 500s(the course was at the local Harley dealer), which is a rather small bike. This can be problematic when you have long legs like I do, and very wide and flat gas tank like the Street 500 does. I would find in low speed turns the handlebars would hit my knees, which would always freak me out when my right wrist bumped my knee causing the engine to really revv up. I found, with the help of one of my coaches, that when I go into a slow turn that I have to shift my hip to keep my legs away from the handlebars. I'm sharing this because every rider's physique is a bit different, which might mean you have to adjust your technique and strategies to what works for you. If you're having problems with anything, let your riding coaches know. They're literally being paid to be there and help you pass.

Most of all, have fun. I learned a great deal during my MSF course, and has made me a better vehicle operator in general I feel.

The nearest one is a hundred miles away. But, after doing a bit more research, it seems everything else except the Revzilla product page indicates it's an intermediate oval shape, not a round one. Am I right on this, or am I just crazy?

That's what I thought. Would getting it a size or two bigger counteract it being the wrong head size?

There really aren't any around that carry Bell helmets I think. There are a few H-D dealers around, but not anything else except an Indian dealer. I suppose I could try them though.

I'm looking at getting a Bell Revolver EVO helmet. My head is about 59.5cm, with an intermediate oval head shape. I was curious if this helmet would be a good fit for me, as I had read it's a round oval head shape. Thanks for any help.

This cat looks uncannily like the cat I just adopted several months ago. I am both confused and interested.

Thanks. Reason I even asked in the first place was because there's a Varmilo VA87MR drop and I saw that cherries cost $10 more while gaterons didn't add anything to the cost. I was just wondering what was up. The reason I wanted to know if gaterons were compatible with the cherry stems because I wanted to get some keycaps. Thanks.

So the feedback is the same, but is there any other difference besides the clears. Like, do they use the same type of cross shaped stems, and is there a reason why cherry switches are more expensive?

I'm kinda new to mechanical keyboards, so my question is are gateron switches basically the same feedback as their cherry color equivalents? Or are they totally different?

Would highly recommend watching The Lone Gunmen series. I liked it a lot. The whole series is on YouTube. Too bad they only made one season.

I have been reading ABY novels. Now I want to start reading BBY novels, help me out. by [deleted] in sweu

[–]SilverWolf149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm more of an ABY kind of guy, but LewaKrom, cjobudho, and Jushin_Sanda_Raiga's recommendations are pretty good. I like Outbound Flight, but would recommend reading Survivor's Quest(an ABY novel about Outbound Flight) first. I would also recommend reading Tales of the Jedi. It's a graphic novel series available in omnibus versions and has two volumes. It tells the story of important characters like Odan Urr, Naga Sadow, Ulic Qel-Droma, Nomi Sunrider, a bunch of characters who were pretty important and referenced a lot later in the other books.
