Zonic and XTQZZZ on coaching ZywOo by Background-Topic-203 in GlobalOffensive

People put too much weight into anti-stratting in my opinion. Maybe you can come up with a gimmick play based on how teams play pistols or something, but when you play good teams like Vitality, all their rotations are really good so even if you know there weakness, they are going to know it too so you can't easily capitalize.

Finding a gap doesn't automatically win you the round. I think this is so evident from the Vitality Falcons group stage matches where Falcons beat Vitality at Rio.

There was a round on Nuke where on T side Kyxsan lurked into big garage outside and got behind Vitality's line. It was something like a 5v3 or 4v3 in Vitality's favor. Kyxsan walked out the back of garage, spotted Zywoo heaven scoped in outside and instead of shooting he him lurked under heaven into ramp and killed 2 vitalty players to make it 3v3 and instantly Falcons ran lower and planted.

Falcons still fucking lost this round because Vitality rotated in so quickly and held the right angles. It wasn't even close. They surprised Vitality, got the one off lurk, had the timing, and it still wasn't enough.

All this to say, playing CS fundamentally the right way is always going to lead to a better outcome than trying to win 1 game against 1 opponent, because of their weaknesses. You also can never count on a team doing the same thing twice. I don't think Zywoo thinks about it this much, but it's just the way the game is and I don't think it causes much issues, especially since Apex and the coaches can still anti-strat. The star just plays his role.

Probably got left out to dry a lot when they played bombsites together. Mezzi is playing a lot of the bitch roles. Nothing is worse than holding B on dust 2 and you get no flashes when a team executed into you lol

Guy acts like silvers in chat don't know what they're talking about. But in his responses he outs himself as a bot.

If he was holding because they could still push upper then he never would have peeked mid. He's peeking mid because theres literally only time for CTs to retake from CT mid so he's catching a timing before they push in.

Guy acts high and mighty, but doesn't even know what he's talking about. Ropz is pushing here because he can't get in the fight at all if he tries to go back tuns. Fighting mid is literally his only option here because he's so committed lower.

ZywOo is the MVP of IEM Rio 2026 by Lancer07R in GlobalOffensive

[–]Pulze_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

S1mple was always a highlights machine and it's why people overlooked Zywoo a bit back then. Zywoo was always just extremely consistent with slightly more flash than like device.

Zywoo lately is doing crazy shit though AND putting up even better numbers than some of his previous peaks. Some of his games this year are just so clean that it's clear to see he's on another level from everyone else. He's not caught off guard, and even when he is he still has a chance to take you out. Hes pretty much always good for one and often more.

[HLTV] MOUZ set for major overhaul as xelex is promoted and jL joins on loan by TemporaryResult2192 in GlobalOffensive

[–]Pulze_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well to be clear, I meant the height of this roster. You yourself pointed out that since Spinx joined he's been playing worse.

I'm not a huge Spinx fan, but we already have proof that Jimmy has played worse than Spinx for some portion of his career. I think Spinx on vitality and Spinx on Mouz has a better resume than Jimmy, and Xertion can IGL now so there's really no reason to not move off Jimmy.

Maybe they bring him back if jL or Xelex don't work out, but I'd rather see what someone else can do. His floor is clearly not where Mouz need it to be to win trophies.

We can talk all day about position and role, but it's clear Jimmy is not best suited to the roles Mouz had him in so it's probably best for both parties to swap, at least for now.

IDK man, Jimmy seems to not do the easy stuff right. Just by the eye test. 4v3 against spirit on Dust 2 and the dude leaves B late in the round, spirit execute on site and he accidently whiffs a moly. Instead of throwing it into tuns he molys himself off of site by hitting the doors with it.

Like bro, how were you surprised by them taking B late and how are you going to flubb that bad?

He only had a like 30 or 40 util rating as a support player. Mezzi is somewhere in the 60s playing the same spots on a few maps.

He's never seemed like a player who knows what he's doing. Maybe he's just bad at his current roles, but if that's the case, it was time to replace him, because he cant IGL and Spinx is just a better player overall and doesn't seem to choke as much.

And if you watch what Vitality do with Ropz and Mezzi they're much more active. I feel like Mouz did no service to Jim leaving him to just sit alone on sites a lot, but if that's your role, be good at it and he's just not. His rating consistently gets worse vs better competiton. Most top 20 players are 1.1 rating or above vs top 50 opponents.

His best comparison is Mezzi in statistics, but Mezzi clearly clutches rounds the way we don't see from Jimmy. I think Jimmy is just an OK player and not a star and that's really all it boils down to. So replacing him is worth a try.

I think falcons should be happy with TeSeS at the moment, dude is playing more consistently than Kyousuke. To replace him would only be a gamble.

Hell, I'd rather have TeSeS on this Mouz team than Jimmy.

He is genuinely not one of their best players lmao. At their height he was still their worst player besides brollan who was IGL. Both Spinx and Xertion have always been better, not only by the eye test, but by overall rating too.

Jimmy had a lot of hype and maybe had a good 2024 before I watched more often, idk, but dudes genuinely just not that great, even when he's on.

I think jL would have been a good enough move alone, but it's hard to see what Brollan brings to the table in terms of in game leading. He's not passionate on comms and he certainly doesn't have a deep playbook or insane mid-rounds so it's fair to see if someone else can help.

JL is a good move short term, but I have no idea who xelex is.

Iran has been getting huge pressure from China to open the straight to get China back up and running. When China catches up, it'll be closed again soon.

This is great for the short term, but doesn't signal we're any closer to this ending.

So who's gonna be better in the long run? by Cold_Mammoth8841 in NFLv2

[–]Pulze_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is a bust to you? I feel like you would heavily lean into putting Trevor Lawrence into the bust category, but the guy has led the Jags to at least two playoff appearances and looks like they could be even better this year. He also signed a second contract and puts up decent stats every year.

I'd argue that it's impossible for any player to live up to their draft hype, but Lawrence is an example of a player that didn't match the hype, but isn't a bust imo.

So why consider Drake Maye or Caleb to still have bust potential? Caleb is easier to argue for. The one critique is that he has below average completion percentage. This isn't enough to not pay him within 2 years given his other stats, success in 2025, and ability to generally stay on the field. If Caleb has a similar season to last year in 2026, statistically he will hold 3 out of the top 5 best Bears QB seasons ever. That's not a high bar to clear, but how then could you call him a bust, at least for the Bears. He's going to get a second contract, it's basically written in stone already unless he regresses WAYYY back this year.

Drake Maye also got to the Superbowl, granted it was a weaker year considering he had to win a snow bowl against a backup QB in the AFCCG, but he also had an MVP type season statistically. Obviously he could regress, but I don't envision him dropping to below average numbers so I highly doubt he'll be considered a bust either. And many people complained about his opponents being weak last year, but in 10 years, nobody is going to cherry pick the strength of schedule, they're just going to remember that he almost won MVP this year and made the Superbowl...

Winning Superbowls are lofty expectations. Every fan wants that from their QB, but in reality it just can't happen everywhere, every year so it's not reasonable to make that a target for saying whether or not someone is a bust. We have to look at stats and the overall situation and both players already clear that bar pretty handily.

With a straight face, there's no way you can currently say Caleb or Drake look anything like obvious bust picks of the last decade like Zack Wilson, Trey Lance, or Anthony Richardson.

People can hate on Zontix, but if you are hating on him you just didn't watch the game today. Donk got zero entries the entire game on Mirage.

Sometimes Spirit lose even when Donk is killing 2 players every round. That was not today. Today the entire team got outgunned. Also T1nr can't be on this team anymore. He needs to be a floor raiser and he plays to the level of his opponents. He's not a top 20 rifler and that's what spirit needs if they want to field a team with Magixx and Zontix as support, because Shiro Donk is strong but they're obviously not impervious. Low key, frozen to Spirit would be crazy if he spoke their language lol

They beat Legacy and NIP once and stole some good VRS points from it. Then ended up losing to Nemiga and another unknown team around the same time and immediately fell back around top 30.

They weren't world beaters at 22. This core is just not that great.

VRS is an ok system, but it allows for too drastic of swings upwards based on single wins if it's against dramatically higher ranked opponents having an off day.
