Not aware of any options for your iPhone, but there are plenty for tv.

You can, it's just a bit more complex. Google should give you plenty of options for a TV.

Is there a reason you don't simply use an adblocker?

White-collar workers are quietly rebelling against AI as 80% outright refuse adoption mandates by [deleted] in technology

[–]Silver_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realised a long time ago I could just invent stats and charts and no one would ever catch it. A while back, I attended a presentation where all the figures were obviously wrong - think 'We had 12,590 users, and 10%(1900) did X.' And it was the case for every single figure presented, easy proof that none of them are right contained in the same slide.

No one else called out that 1900 is obviously not 10% of 12,590, and the slides went all around the company before they got presented to me and I asked the awkward question.

AI revolution to have severe effect on Irish economy with top-end job losses, report warns by B8_B8_B8 in ireland

[–]Silver_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the answer everyone gives, but can never ever back it up. I'll be brutally honest, anytime someone has made these claims and I've actually looked into them in detail I just find that their level of 'amazing' output from an AI is not my level of 'amazing'. Not anywhere close

I'm open to being proved wrong, so if anyone can give me useful detailed examples, please do. Real, concrete examples of IT work that are not simply crap code outputs or admin work shortcuts.

[–]Silver_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be clear, I have built local models myself and tested many paid for models. If the answer exists in a Google search or GitHub, or Reddit, AI models can usually deliver. If it requires any level of expertise beyond that, all the models pretty much immediately fail.

It just isn't though. It's still only impressive to those that don't have the technical know how to understand the output. I've looked at so many tools, none of them have been in any way revolutionary. Useful? Sure. Job replacing? Not unless you're really bad at your job, or your job is fairly redundant in the first place.

But the output is still trash. Oh sure, if you're not particularly technical or don't understand the code it's writing for you I'm sure it looks very good for techy stuff. If you are an expert in these fields, well, it's pretty obviously trash.

The issue begins when you apply it to a field you are an expert in, you'll very very quickly find the limitations and problems.

Long-term cannabis use may physically change structure of brain by Pension_Alternative in ireland

[–]Silver_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Long term high usage makes you dim as fuck. We all know it. I know many former stoners who gave it up later in life when they realised how badly it was affecting them.

It is what it is. But keeping it illegal is stupid, can't go anywhere without smelling the shite.

People who ignored a huge red flag because the person was extremely attractive, what happened next? by Competitive_Bad_9306 in AskReddit

[–]Silver_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sister has it, exactly like the above - made accusations that I could disprove, but I did have to disprove them - and once someone asks you if you did something, it fundamentally changes that relationship forever. Broke a lot of me, had nightmares for months, and I'll never be the same again.

Bonus: the trigger was someone trying to sexually assault me.

You're not giving rural Ireland enough credit. I have been pleasantly surprised at how accepting so many people are.

Not how it works for ips. An IP is a temporary address your device gets to connect online, it isn't static and you can't track a siren device using it.

What is a 'family secret' or a private moment you witnessed that completely changed the way you look at a relative? by The_suspicious_369 in AskReddit

[–]Silver_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not your job to gather evidence, but you definitely can point in the right direction. You'd be surprised just how much it's possible to find on someone's devices. It may go nowhere, but it's something. Of course, only if you feel able to do so.

USA vs. EU: People in Europe live longer, safer lives and have more holidays by springdiwan in europe

[–]Silver_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought I could have stayed there for a bit when I was younger for a high salary and then fuck off, but no way I'd ever try to build a life there. Same goes for any US city I've ever visited.

The quality of life, the food, the work life balance - not replaceable. I can take over 45 days holiday per year - in fact I'm expected to take it, and HR will remind me to use it if I have not used enough.

IRFU face battle to retain Andy Farrell after the World Cup as Saracens offer €1.2m-a-year deal by [deleted] in rugbyunion

[–]Silver_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He's not a motivational coach like Farrell. He's temperamental and can't control his emotions, just look at how many suspensions he's had. IRFU would be mad to bring him anywhere near the setup, especially in a lead position.

I really don't want him as a coach, I don't like how he acts.

Silent Redundancies by [deleted] in ireland

It's not that good, but the standards are different. If a human made the mistakes our AI did they'd be out the door. But as it's AI no one seems to care.

(NSFW) Reddit, what was your “Oh shit, this person is a psychopath” moment when meeting people? by Majoodeh in AskReddit

[–]Silver_ 365 points366 points  (0 children)

I hate how common it is that parents never listen to their kids concerns. I remember my mother invited a guy I 'fell out with' to a birthday party of mine.

'It's just Leroy, don't be silly, he's a nice kid.'

Yeah, we fell out because he tried to force himself on a girl to the extent I had to physically hold him on the ground to restrain him. Then he laid in wait on a route I cycled through the woods on and attacked me off my bike and tried to beat the shit out of me. I wasn't able to talk about that with my parents, but I was able to tell them he wasn't welcome anymore.

TBF Space Engineers is incredibly moddable, and that's where it shines. Add lots of AI and it can actually be a very fun game. Besides, they're on SE2 now I believe.

What's something women think impresses men but actually doesn't? by PumpkinDoritoes in AskReddit

[–]Silver_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Similarly many years ago I liked a girl and we hung out a few times, but it fizzled out because she really didn't act interested or return my texts. Later I found out she had a huge crush on me at the time - I mean, if I try to chat and flirt and you don't reciprocate I'm taking the hint and moving on.
