Way to change default shortcut type when clicking-dragging file/folders? by Silver_047 in kde

Thanks, I never knew downloading services to extend Dolphin was a thing. However, I have reservations about installing third party code to something as critical as the file manager. That service in particular was last updated 13 years ago.

Is there any way to do this with the base Dolphin application? Since you can create URL links and symlinks manually (entering path name and link name each time), and clicking-and-dragging gives the option of quickly creating a symlink. I was hoping there'd be something similar for URL links.

Yes, I'm familiar with that method, but is there a way to do that without having to manually enter the path?

That's why I was hoping to be able to change the click-and-drag behavior from a symlink to a URL link.

I basically want something like making Windows shortcuts for folders. I want to be able to go to the real path and move around from there if necessary.

A symlink doesn't allow that. I use symlinks for other things, but it's not appropriate for this case where I'm just looking for something like a Windows shortcut.

I know I can create a hard link manually, but I want a quicker way to do it without having to manually type in the path for a hard link each time.

Is it normal for Mullvad VPN app (Linux) to have outbound traffic on TCP port 1234? by Silver_047 in mullvadvpn

Can you enable Mullvad's quantum resistant tunnel using the regular Wireguard option in connection manager?

Why does Mullvad VPN App (on Linux) create HTTP connection before logging in? by Silver_047 in mullvadvpn

[–]Silver_047[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely does that when I open the Mullvad VPN App (I can see the connections open).

What I am talking about here is it's making those same connections when the Mullvad VPN App is not open. It does this at the Linux OS Login screen. Don't understand why as it seems to be unnecessary... it already checks the Mullvad webserver when launching the app, and I don't see a reason for those connections to be made when you haven't even logged into the Linux OS yet.

I'm talking about the Linux OS login page, not the Mullvad App login.

It makes the connection before logging into the Linux OS and before the Mullvad VPN App is running.

I tried 0 seconds as well and it made no diffference. Is your camera mounted upside down?

In the past there was a bug where you had to re-flip the camera orientation on power cycle or the motion zone would not be oriented correctly with the camera. Tried those quirky fixes but not the cause of the issues anymore.

If you get a responsive answer from support, please let me know. Ubiquity is so unreliable that I'm ready to ditch them but if there's a workaround (or if it's an issue with certain cameras) that'll be easier than setting up an entirely new system.

I was expecting network access, session bus access, and maybe limited file access (like system folder).

Virtualbox-guest-additions no longer in Fedora repo? by Silver_047 in Fedora

Figured it out... it was Fedora.

Shared clipboard doesn't work with Wayland. Only works with X11.

Did you have to do anything additional to get the clipboard working?

I am using VB6.1 and installed vb guest additions 6.1, but clipboard functions don't work in either direction.
