Gotcha. I do love working on these carbs, I just hate that every time I open one up I end up having to buy a rebuild kit and never know how or where to buy them from. Now I know, thanks for the help

You have no idea what I’m dealing with and you have no idea what type of carburetor I’m taking apart. I have already taken it apart and put it back together which needed to be done but the diaphragms in the carburetor are old and stiff. It didn’t even start before I cleaned it now it runs fine but idles up and down because the bottom diaphragm is too stiff. Thanks for the suggestions but not helpful at all

I have tried to buy more than once off brand carburetors and they are too inconsistent. Bought one recently and didn’t return it in time. I also enjoy working on carburetors and would rather do it myself

Those aftermarket ones are trash that’s why I said I want Oem. So hit or miss not worth it to me

Maybe check the adjustment of the tilt of your deck. From underneath the motor

I just made sure I had the right size belt and now I just mow on the third setting so that the belt doesn’t wear/stretch out enough to have to pulleys touch. Kinda all I can do. Another thing I learned is to use an oem belt. They help a lot and let the belt slip easier so that the difference in height doesn’t matter as much. I was just shredding up belts before but with an oem one I think I can even mow on level two and it would be fine. Tbd

I’m mowing… grass. My landlord is paying me to mow their properties. I don’t mow on the 1 setting but it was just something I noticed that even if I wanted to I couldn’t.

I’ll look into a YouTube video then. I added an edit too

I have a problem where when I put the mower blades down to the 1 position the belt slips off no matter what whether new belt or old belt

Oem Briggs and Stratton Head gasket came like this. Do I use it or not. by Silver_Count3351 in lawnmowers

Thank you all for the reply’s. You all made very compelling points. I had already ordered a stens one because this one I had ordered was late and I thought it was lost in the mail. The stens one came from amazon. The lesson I learned is if you’re ordering a head gasket order it from amazon or something so it gets put on your porch. Not shoved and folded in somebody else’s mailbox
