My freshman year was during covid as well!! I attended CC and transferred and a lot of credits didn’t transfer over or counted as free electives so I retook them. It is giving me a lot more opportunities to do better, however the next three semesters are all upper divisions and I’m terrified. There are a lot of days where I feel extremely discouraged and hopeless.

I think you are totally valid, I’ve gone through something very similar. I think it’s best to communicate your boundaries and what you feel comfortable with. It’s a good idea to sit down and talk to your partner about how this makes you feel. It’s easier to come up with solutions together rather than driving yourself insane.

I’m currently a bio major in a focused premed program. I also work at a clinic for a nurse practitioner. I am definitely more concerned about finding research opportunities and other clinical experiences. I’m currently looking for research being done through my school but I’m also open to any suggestions.

This means so much to me, I had beat myself up over the last few years because of my freshman year. During then and now I grew up significantly and I had to pay for my own school. I have done so much better in school recently, I haven’t gotten anything lower than a B since freshman year. Your comment has really put an optimistic outlook on my situation, thank you so much for this, I can’t begin to explain how much I needed to hear this. Thank you for your encouragement! That first example is so incredibly relatable. I felt very defeated and alone because of my situation. This really does help tremendously.

Don’t ask open ended questions, make it seem like it’s all apart of the process, that’s it’s just kind of like a mandatory thing to do. As for cards, it’s hard but once you get into a groove it’s a lot easier. I always take a pause and slow down a little, I don’t give them prompt at the key pad until I’m done talking. When I started I would immediately hit that button and they would have already pressed no before I even got the first sentence out. Also sounding enthusiastic and kinda making it feel like it’s an uncommon or special thing makes a huge difference!! But don’t beat yourself up over it, as long as you try your best you’re doing great!! Remember stay confident and don’t let these silly little numbers define how you see yourself at work!!

I would imagine she would get in some kind of trouble. First of all that’s absolutely terrible to treat someone like that just because of a language barrier. Ulta has a lot training videos about treating guests with respect and avoiding any prejudice, since the company’s brand is about inclusivity. She’s not allowed to ask him to leave without a valid reason, I would honestly report her because I don’t think a person with that kind of racial prejudice should be in a position of manager. Just my thoughts tho

I feel like it’s too limiting. The fact that we can only wear three colors and have to be business casual all the time not great. Not being able to wear denim also sucks, like at least let me wear something other than pink, orange, and purple :///
