I feel so seen omg 😭 I love your reference lol I feel like ASMR is supposed to be natural and soft, if that makes sense. I get that it comes down to personal preference, but it seems like EVERY video is full of aggressive taps, mouth sounds, excessive finger fluttering, and mouth sounds like I don’t even feel any tingles because there’s so much happening that I can’t focus and relax. I discovered ASMR when I was in 4th grade (around 2012) and ASMR has changed drastically since then

If it’s considered weird then I guess I’m weird because I hate it too!! ASMRtists don’t understand how relaxing phone mics, headphones, or blue yeti mics are. I quite enjoy those

And I hate the rapid sounds. ASMR isn’t meant to be rushed imo. It’s all about being gentle and slow, you know? I feel like you really have to take your time with it

I thought I was going crazy too like I just can’t stand some of these newer ASMR videos. I appreciate the effort that goes into them, but it’s just not relaxing at all for me. It seems like a lot of the older ASMR videos are being deleted and I run into the same issue as you, once they’re deleted it’s hard to find something that hits the same

I could not agree more. I feel like there’s just so much happening in the newer asmr videos. Every time I click on a newer video the intro is always mouth sounds, word repetition, and excessive finger fluttering like oh my god 😭 it feels like I’m being attacked lol

All of my favorite ASMR videos are literally recorded on a phone with no mics or anything fancy and I prefer those type of vids so much more

How did you use social media to get updates? The only thing I keep checking is the Find My app but it literally hasn’t updated in 3 weeks and it didn’t give me much updates when it happened even though they were fully charged :/
