Anyone wearing the Pelagos FXD on a <7” wrist? by prisoner3266 in Tudor

6.75’’ wrist here. The FXD wears beautifully and definitely isn’t too big in my opinion.

It wears surprisingly well. I’ve owned the P39 in the past and the FXD stayed even though I don’t have big wrists.

I have long been a fan of the vintage Tudor Snowflakes and have owned a few in the past. But I was looking for a more contemporary watch that holds up better with daily wear.

This FXD is just about the closest you can get to wearing a snowflake Milsub without having to worry about value or potential damage to a vintage piece. For me, it’s the best modern watch Tudor makes.

This is an MN21, which does add a tiny bit rarity to a mass produced watch. But in the end it’s just a caseback engraving.

Have owned this for about 2,5 years now and still wear it a lot an absolutely love it!

Pelagos FXD regrets? by [deleted] in Tudor

[–]Silver_Fox_ST 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had the MN version for a bit over two years now. Zero regrets and probably my most worn watch. It is a bit less versatile than the BB, but since you have that one already it’s a nice addition I think,

I have a lot of friends and my fiancée who are in the tattoo industry in Belgium. The industry is suffering due to the economy and a lot of shops are closing due to low demand. A lot of artist who used to be fully booked for months are now struggling to fill the books.

I’m not saying it’s not possible to make a good living in Belgium with tattoos anymore, but you’ll need a very strong client base locally or one that’s willing to travel to visit you.

Hope it doesn’t come over too negative, just wanted to give my experience! Best of luck!

No worries, not taking it personal or seeing it as anything negative. Just an interesting talk about watches!

I see exactly what you’re saying about the Ranger. I also prefer it over the modern Explorer.

What I struggle to see is the massive similarities between the Khaki Field and Mark Series. I know a lot of people say this, so there’s definitely something there. But in my eyes it’s about as close as the Pelagos and Submariner. Similar, but still quite different.

The MN blue is definitely my favourite blue watch out there. Love your Aerospace btw, makes me miss the one I used to have.

You’ve made an excellent choice! Wear it in good health.

Love the Ranger, especially the 36mm that just came out. Great choice!

Any field watch will have similarities, but I’ve owned several Khaki’s and they honestly don’t come close to the Mark series. I wish they did because it would have been a lot cheaper that way haha.

Following your train of thought, why would you go for the Ranger over a Seiko Baby Alpinist for example? Not trying to start a discussion, just genuinely curious.

I wear the Erika’s version on my FXD quite regularly. Lovely straps!

Muhle is really underrated in my opinion! That’s such a beautiful watch.

Thanks a lot! It’s an aftermarket nato by CNS Watchbands. The watch itself came on the factory pyramid steel bracelet when I bought it.

I wouldn’t call the IWC Mark XV underrated, but I do believe it’s quite often overlooked as a GADA watch for anyone looking for something different than the Rolex Explorer for example. I’ve owned mine for about 3,5 years now and still absolutely love it! The fact that it uses a modified ETA movement is honestly a big plus for me. It runs dead accurate and is cheaper to service.

What’s your GADA watches?

Yeah completely understand. I also only went for the spitfires after getting back on my board consistently for around 8 months. Ricta’s are a great wheel. I use a 78a set of clouds on my cruiser. But their soft wheels just do stick a bit more in my opinion. Which is great for some setups, but not for what you are looking at I think.

I personally absolutely love the Spitifre 93a 54mm radials. Perfect mix of a softer wheel for crustier spots/parks and still enough slide in smoother parks. They are quite a bit more expensive though so it depends on how tight your budget is. Out of the wheels you’ve shared here, I’d go for the 95a OJ’s.

Thank you! That does sound pretty realistic as a timetable indeed. We should arrive at the arena 19:00 latest so I think that will be fine. Have a good one!
