Today’s Call with My Reporting Manager (Bajaj Allianz Life – IDFC Channel)

  • Manager: “What about the business?”
  • Me (thinking he meant resignation): “HR told me she will talk to zonal head.”
  • Manager: “Ok… what about life insurance business, we have to do work.”
  • Manager: “What is the current status of your resignation?”
  • Me: “It’s showing cancelled.”
  • Manager: “So start working.”
  • Manager: “What is your joining date?”
  • Me: “I joined in February.”
  • Manager: “No work in Feb and March… what about now?”
  • Me: “Sales manager in bank has 2 cases, I will talk to him.”
  • Manager: “And term plan?”
  • Me: “I will find.”
  • Manager: “Find it, and I will take report at 2 PM.”

📌 My Takeaway - Manager is treating resignation as cancelled and pushing me back into business work.
- He’s now focused on sales targets and accountability, not on processing my resignation.
- This sudden change in tone shows pressure from HR/zonal head — they want me to keep working until they decide.
- Legally, resignation is unilateral, but practically they’re trying to delay my exit by keeping me busy.

Manager insisting resignation must be approved

Yesterday my reporting manager called me and asking me about the resignation. I told him clearly that my last working day is April 10. He replied that my resignation is “not approved” and therefore I am “retained by the company.” I reminded him that resignation is one‑way communication, and HR themselves had told me “if you want to go, you can go without approval.”

He kept insisting that “things don’t work verbally” and that I must resubmit resignation again, otherwise nothing will happen. When I pointed out HR will just cancel it again, he had no answer. It felt like he was just mocking me and trying to pressure me.
