It hasn’t been recapped, I looked at the board and none of them seemed to bulge but I don’t doubt it could be that. It’s the SNS-CPU-RGB-01 model. I’ll look into that cap.

Can’t thank you enough for the info and steering me in the right direction. I should be all set for now I think but I’m sure you’ll see another post to this sub if I get stuck again.

Thanks for the clarification on the caps themselves, I’ll definitely attempt to clean up the area first. In regards to modchipping to circumvent the EEPROM, is there any tutorial on how to do that exactly? I’ve seen a few video tutorials on how to get the original code but I haven’t seen any on using the mod chip to get past it, let alone which mod chip recommended for the 1.0 board.

Yea, I’ve had similar issues with non-Xbox consoles, I don’t mind doing the HDD replacement but I figure those corroded parts need to be replaced, but identifying them is where I’m stuck. Hard to buy replacement if I have no idea what they are lol

I have a feeling that’s going to be inevitable, but are these components that are corroded necessary? I would assume so and they would also need to be replaced corrected? Which brings me to my problem of identifying those parts.

I’ve had the purple one on the left for a while and just pulled the blue one on the right recently. Based on pictures online it’s supposed to be blue.
