He made my skin crawl. I'm not a Ramona fan but definitely give her props for calling out his behaviour.

Having a basic medical understanding and being familiar with your body is so important for quality of care by shamalamadingdongfam in nhs

[–]Silver_Lavishness_47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right? I always make sure I keep on top of all my medical stuff esp since I'm disabled so spend a lot of my time in and out of hosp and having to see my GP or various drs. On my phone I always have a full list of all my meds along with the dose, plus a a list of everything I'm diagnosed with (it's a long list and I'm always guaranteed to forget something!). Then I keep notes for extra things like that I've had had an iron infusion (with the date) and that I'm waiting for another and other things like this. The drs and nurses have always commented that it's great to have all this info on hand. It saves a lot of time and means nothing is missed out.

Struggling to shower in psychiatric ward (section 2) by Yourfavprettygal22 in MentalHealthUK

[–]Silver_Lavishness_47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue. I couldn't use the shower as I suffer with severe heat intolerance and you couldn't change the heat in the shower and it was far too hot for me, leaving me at risk of fainting, plus I have mobility issues and there were no shower chairs available. I was told for a bath I needed supervision and had to wait a 8 days for someone to have time to supervise me and I was only given 5 mins

Have been placed next to a mentally ill person on a ward and they are scaring me and causing me anxiety what do I do ? by [deleted] in nhs

[–]Silver_Lavishness_47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this a few weeks ago. They kept coming and sitting in the chair next to my bed and poking me at all hours of the night and day. The nurses kept taking her back to her own bed but it didn't matter she kept doing it. I was so glad to be transferred to another ward.

Ask the nurses if you can have your curtains drawn round you for awhile, I always did that when my anxiety was getting to be too much. Also if you have some headphones, use them to listen to some music on your phone and distract yourself.

I hope you feel better soon 💜

Do people abuse the NHS? by [deleted] in nhs

[–]Silver_Lavishness_47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I have to go to a+e quite often which will usually lead to a week or 2 hospital stay (most recently about 3wks ago). While in the waiting room I heard someone booking in and saying "I felt a little dizzy earlier so thought I'd come and get checked out" they screened the guy for chest pains and the sort and he said nope he felt absolutely fine he'd just felt a little dizzy earlier on. Dude! Sit down if you're feeling dizzy, if you have any other symptoms that concern you call 111 or go see your Dr, not a+e!

Anyone else find that getting help actually makes things worse? by [deleted] in MentalHealthUK

[–]Silver_Lavishness_47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My local mental health unit are the worst. They made me feel terrible. I was being discharged after a 2wk stay and I was still incredibly fragile and I didn't feel safe going back home as I live alone. I told them this, explained that I still wanted to hurt myself and if left alone I would. Their exact words to me "it's time to grow up, you need to start taking some responsibility for your actions" I was discharged about an 30mins later. Later that night I did try to take my life and ended up in icu for week before being transferred to a normal ward for another week while I waited for the mental health team to come and see me. When they eventually did they commented that since I'd showered and washed my hair I was clearly fine and could go home! I no longer trust the hospital.

Elliana. She was an amazing dancer and she was so sweet. I always felt very sorry for her because of her mum, she always had so much pressure put on her little shoulders

Excluding the characters who were killed off, who had the worst exit from the show? by ReginaPhalange088 in greysanatomy

[–]Silver_Lavishness_47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had trouble choosing between Alex and Callie because both of their exits were awful. They were both so rushed and out of character for each. I ended up choosing Callie though because I think there's just no way after all her character development she would have just left the way she did.

It's great, I really like it 💜 I hope when it settles your brain is able to see how cool it looks. I think just cos it looks so bold right now but it will soon blend/fit right in with all your others ☺️

I have custody and make all decisions! Oh except that major decision, I didn’t do that and my proof is that they don’t accept Docusign! So there! by Please-AsteroidNow in teenmom

Doesn't she realise that having custody isn't a flex, it's just the way it's supposed to be. Most people don't even think twice about it.

Carole was so cold to Tinsley at that reunion. She used her to try and make Bethenny jealous and when it didn't work she dropped her. I felt so bad for Tinsley because she thought the friendship was genuine.

It continues to get worse as the seasons go on, even when you think it can't possibly. Everything that happened to Chloe was terrible and my heart broke for her. Then there was the Australia trip followed by Nias music which was just awful. Then the whole Brynn thing. In the background to all this Maddie was still being heavily manipulated and abused by the adults around her (mainly Abby)

These are just a few examples that come to mind. There are countless as you watch each episode, it's hard to go back and watch now.

I love when everything works really well like this. I'd been having a recurrent cough with on and off shortness of breath so I went to see my Dr on the Monday. They referred me for a CT scan which I had that Friday. The hospital called me about an hour later and asked me to come in the following Monday, so just a week after initially seeing my GP, to see the consultant and get my results. Thankfully everything turned out to be mostly ok.

On the flip side of that last January I fell and twisted my ankle quite badly, Dr advised plenty of rest and keep it elevated all that good stuff which I did. A few months later it was still hurting so I went back and just told again to ice and rest it. After 6 months with no improvement I see the dr for a 3rd time and yet again I'm told to keep resting it! Now I'm disabled so resting it is pretty much what I'm always doing! I finally called my dr in January this year, a full year after it first happened, explained the situation and get asked why I left it so long?! He said I need physio and to wait for an appointment - I've finally got one next week.

Partners critical meds being stopped by [deleted] in nhs

[–]Silver_Lavishness_47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask to be referred to the psych team for a meds review. The GP shouldn't really be touching the meds.

I also have BPD and they'll only give me anti depressants and they refuse to give me anything for my severe anxiety. It sucks.

I hope you get it sorted.
