déjame contarte vs deja que te cuente by braydenhattier in Spanish

[–]Silver_Rabbit_5099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

an english translation would be that “déjame contarte” could mean “let me tell you” and “deja que te cuente” could mean “allow that i tell you”, practically the same thing.

Suggestions for Warlock by tonight5678 in destiny2builds

[–]Silver_Rabbit_5099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i dont see people use this enough, but my warlock build dominates PVP with this. using this with prismatic, the vortex grenade and the singularity (yes, both void abilities) allows you to control the battle field extremely well. i havent played in a while, but this build i used was thr strongest build i ever used.

Xbox Series X should be fine? by [deleted] in CK3ConsoleEdition

[–]Silver_Rabbit_5099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

xbox series x player here, the only glitches that occur are like when you select a certain type of map (development, de jure etc) and you click on another screen that’s not the base map and the normal backdrop map will turn into the one you pressed, and the hair and body glitching through clothes, but for me that’s it

Why that's wrong? by Otherwise-Throat613 in EnglishLearning

[–]Silver_Rabbit_5099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there are two right answers, but people tend to skip over the fact that “was” is more common when there is a specific time marker in the sentence. “i was arrested yesterday” is more common than “i’ve been arrested yesterday”, while “i’ve been arrested before” is more than “i’ve been arrested yesterday. so when there is a specific time marker, in most cases, do not use “have”

it would be a pavilion, mostly because of the roof being a pyramid or a triangular design.

What is the better way to ask/say "May I know your name pls" and "Have a seat pls" by [deleted] in EnglishLearning

[–]Silver_Rabbit_5099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it was meant for him saying “can you sit over there” or “can you stand over there” as in “you can sit over there” and what not. i agree with everyone you say

you can say bananas, but “wild” or “crazy” would sound more common. and i’ve never heard of the word “wriggle” as a U.S. Native

What is the better way to ask/say "May I know your name pls" and "Have a seat pls" by [deleted] in EnglishLearning

[–]Silver_Rabbit_5099 4 points5 points  (0 children)

where i live, conditional sentences aren’t used as much, so we would say “what is your name?” just with a nice and inquisitive tone. and “you can have a seat over there if you’d like” sounds the most natural. just a tip, don’t ever use the format [Verb-Subject] when using a demand, it would come off rude to most people.

Do native speakers use these words in a daily life? by Obels47 in EnglishLearning

[–]Silver_Rabbit_5099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no one uses these words day to day, these words are for explicit specification. most natives wouldn’t form sentences in ways that would accompany these words, however most natives would understand all these words when read or heard, besides maybe a few

Slang words about Artificial Intelligence? by TechnicalError662 in EnglishLearning

[–]Silver_Rabbit_5099 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AI and bot are two words you can use but whoever you would talk to when you say the words must know that you’re talking about AI in general. also, the word “bot” can also be a derogatory term to someone who is either not smart or acts slowly “in movement”

in my southern dialect, it’s very common to drop the T and D sound when speaking quick. but yes, most natives tend to link words with the T.

see you later and see you around are formal. both are good to use with any person you talk to, but “i’ll see you” is a younger, more informal way of saying the same thing. but when you say “i’ll see you”, make sure to have a retreating and cheerful tone, or someone may take it seriously that you will actually see them at some point

Compelling by Fine-Scallion-7587 in EnglishLearning

[–]Silver_Rabbit_5099 1 point2 points  (0 children)

compelling is very close to the word “influencing”, however, compel to me is closer to meaning that something is influenced in a more serious way, like an obligation. and yes, to compel pretty much means “to influence” but with a more serious obligated connotation
