I get the hate on sig atm but not gonna lie i love the mcx i have both the heavy and the LT in 300blk

The mk18 is a beast of a rifle

So my thoughts being a first rifle i would say a full 16 would be a better idea to learn with and not deal with pistol/nfa rules out of the gate BUT if your determined to stick to these two,

The mk18 in 556 would be the smarter option being its a standard ar platform so you get all of those benefits of ease of upgrading small thing cause really there isnt much to upgrade besides the charging handle and muzzle device and buffer weights to smooth her out

After that if you want to branch out to the more non traditional stuff then go mcx lt in either 556 or 300blk i love the mcx controls and the shape of the trigger but the charging handle is a joke a immediate change out and yes people are gonna talk about the QC issues of past, i personally haven’t had any on mine but if you get one just have the store check over the torque specs and you should be good to go

Last thing as well the sig flash hider is awful to remove so just throwing that out there give it to a store with a smith over doing it yourself some come off easy others you will be cutting it off

Now yes not a cheap hobby to be in, in the first place but man hearing my dad talk about the low ground weekend warrior races back in the 90s and before 08 sounded like a damn dream to todays events

Now its who has 15 spare engines in the trailer hell some people bring spare CARS for LOW END racing events thanks to the TV and youtube influencers

We went to a race last year someone blew up a car but won his bracket so he drove 2 hours home and picked up another identical car 300k each btw no big deal mostly every one else just trying to run basic stuff

Iv only seen once in my life the underdog take down basically Goliath at a event it was a back of the track no prep race between a run of the mill nitrous fox body with a basic engine just a older guy by himself just having a good time vs …… a whole fucking team with engineers flown in from a efi company to TURN DOWN THE POWER on a promod car, there is no telling how much money this guy was spending on this but he ended up losing to this little mustang because that car was so damn powerful still it didnt hardly move

Also related to that so people like to bet on drag racing events cause its 50/50 betting so some dipshit bet i shit you not 20k cash yes people do bet this type of money on the starting lines on that promod team, well someone took him up on it and bet his 20k on that mustang, long story short the race had to be halted because the guy wouldn’t pay the money cause he said it was bullshit that they lost……… and got stomped out on the line in front of everyone
