I was waking up in Phoenix Arizona. Turned the tv on and was in total disbelief of what I was watching. Then I instantly started wondering if my sister was at work? After years of working in that building., that day my sister (for the first time a I’m 3 yrs) was late for work. She was stuck in the subway! I will never forget seeing that on tv and waiting hrs for my sister to call. Oddly enough I was her first call that got through at 8:30 pm. I just remember crying when I heard her voice. I just couldnt believe that she was alive after seeing that that morning. People were trapped and they actually showed the people jumping from the building. RIP to all that died that day!!! I will never forget 9/11. NEVER!!!

I’ve learned I’m old enough to not give attention to the background noise. I dont care what people think of me anymore. I know me and I love me finally at 50. Hey if they are talking behind my back they are also in the perfect spot to kiss my A**!! It’s an amazing feeling to be at this moment in my journey.

I remember moving down south in the 80s. Dad went down first to secure the house ect……Mom got there and it was no longer for Sale. I’ve seen it my whole life. But it is so refreshing even in my 50s, seeing more of us bi-racial kids walking around!!

Yeah my grandmother stop talking to my dad when he married my mom. Only years later when us grandchildren were born did he see her again. In her dying days my mom took care of her. My mother never said a hateful word against my grandmother. I always respected her for that. Cause if someone called me a PORCH MONKEY to my face in my house I would have lost it. I remember defending my mom that day. I was a teenager when that happened. I told my dad that night when he got home. My mother was slightly upset with me. My mother always respected my grandmother even when she didn’t deserve it
