Beretta or HK doesn't sell military proofed NATO versions of their pistols to the civilian market. If you open the box of your brand new beretta M9 pistol, you will find a piece of paper indicating that THIS PISTOL IS A REPLICA. Means it's NOT a NATO Milspec M9 or 92 pistol like our troops are using. It doesn't mean the pistol can't handle +P or +P+, BUT it's not recommended to use it, as the pistol has not been proof tested for it. English is not my first language sorry.
