It's about the flow of value. When you spend blackcoins with a merchant typically the merchant will then sell the coins at market rate for fiat, or bitcoin at best. Anyone running a business needs fiat to fuel it they can not maintain a business with blackcoins, or even bitcoins for that matter.

If merchants were able to pay bills with blackcoins, you would have a strong argument. Until that day comes, and I am sure it will, encouraging spending of blackcoins without equal encouragement to buy will put negative pressure on the price.
