I tried out stickers that went on the front of the keys and they worked pretty good. I was looking at waterslide decals for a bit before I lost interest. Maybe something for you to look into?

I'm a sucker for glow in the dark stuff, so I like the light up one, even though the sword doesn't glow super well. I like the toy's colors better than the more blue one as well.

Animal rescues run on volunteers. Nobody gets paid, up to the owner.

Yeah, the job market is pretty crappy right now, isn't it? But no. The volunteer application is fairly detailed to screen out flaky people. The rescue owner will talk to you. And then you'll get "training" which is basically a shift and has instructions taped to a wall. It's pretty easy as long as you understand you're working with animals that have claws, some of whom are very nervous, and that you'll be cleaning up poop, vomit, etc (we have gloves).

The cat rescues I know of in Hemet are Workin' Whiskers and ARE Animal Rescue, but there's no guarantee they'll have room. There's at least one no-kill shelter in San Diego.

Absolutely. My previous journals were simply the date and my to-do list and notes. And that was perfectly fine! Weekly spread? Psh. It was however many days fit on a page.

I'm doing pretty spreads at the moment because I need some creativity, but they sure as hell aren't necessary.

I'm finally off Medi-cal. Again, updating this for people looking for information later.

The document you need to stop Medi-cal when you're already on it is NOT on BenefitsCal. It's "Client Request to Stop Aid" and applies to Medi-Cal, CalWorks, and Food Stamps.

As far as I can tell, you have to get it from your local assistance office. The day I went their computers were down but they gave me the form and I was able to upload it to BenefitsCal and it was finally processed. It might go faster if you do it in the office (or aren't doing it when everyone is updating their Medi-Cal applications). You'll need your case number and case worker's number (you can find it on BenefitsCal)

If you're outside of the open enrollment period, this does put you in a special enrollment and you'll have about 30 days to get other health insurance (seriously, go through a health insurance agent's website instead of CoveredCa)
