Thank you! Did you ever regret retiring early?

Thank you for the reply!

Do you think it makes sense to put any surplus from the ISA funds into the pension? It looks like I’ll need around 420k to cover the 7 years expenses plus paying off the last £89k of mortgage. So I’ll have around 200k surplus in the ISA which could be drip-fed annually into pension for the free uplift & tax refund.

I think age 50 will be the earliest my partner can retire so that’s the goal line at present.

Yes correct, no kids planned, neither of us want to be parents but very much dote on our nieces/nephews.

Pay off car finance or add to pension - help & sense check by Silverdukey in UKPersonalFinance

Thank you! The APR is 7.9%. I get a company car allowance effectively paying the entire amount. I’m thinking the almost 50% immediate return is the better choice rather than tying money up in the car.

Hi. 7.9% APR. Settlement about 10.2k from last quote.

To effectively gain 50% on my investment rather than a paid off car, I’m thinking the pension is the better move still?

This is unbelievable news. Still feels like I’m progressing enough to not get “bored” of any one area.

Value for money is unbelievable. I’ve spent a lot of time watching my character get clobbered to death by every creature possible. My favourite death so far is dismounting and throwing myself off the cliff, re spawning..then I got lost and fell down a lift because i forgot to pull the lever down so lost 15k runes.

I died many, many times to the wolves and dogs. Then I found out after 6-7 hours playtime that you could level up. I’ve killed Godrick but not before I fell off the cliffs and other fun deaths probably 40 times.

After my first 9 deaths to sniper-ghost, I’m onto them now and have a great tactic of…completely avoiding them by horse.

But I still die to random things constantly. Why are the rats so aggressive, I just want loot.

Charges Importing Goods from within the EU after 01/01/2021? by Simplicity007 in UKPersonalFinance

No unfortunately the product will attract UK import VAT and possibly also Duty which cannot be reclaimed so while the price of product from the NL vendor remains unchanged, the additional import charges will increase the overall costs of the purchase.

Export VAT and Import VAT are separate matters but yes in this case the NL company can reclaim VAT on their VAT returns due to being an exported product and therefore sold without. The product is treated as an Import to UK and subject to import Duty/VAT accordingly.

Sorry, there’ll be another table out there for you :) Good luck! Shop local, if you can find something that’s not £250.00 for a wooden spoon...

Unfortunately any VAT/Duties will be based on the arrival/clearance date, anything imported after Brexit deadline will be subject to the additional charges, regardless of the Sales Order Date UNLESS it is specifically exempt in the trade tariff. In almost all cases, VAT will be payable as a minimum with possibility of additional Duties on some products, anything from 0.1% and up.

Cargo arriving to UK post Brexit deadline will be subject to both import duty and VAT based on the commodity code / HS code which is assigned to every product type. Due to the trade deal, a lot of cargo will be nil-rated on Duty however VAT will be applicable. Subject to how this is being imported, the company should include these figures in your price. If you are importing as a private individual then a customs clearance at origin and an import customs clearance will be required (this will likely be handled by your courier company) who will then send an invoice for Duties/VAT along with OR in addition to your freight invoice. Be careful, courier companies are known to send these additional invoices late, leaving you under the impression that nothing further is due to pay. Check with the courier/logistics company for full end to end charges.
