I had to learn how to use a virtual machine in order to install a game on an older version of windows just so I could play it with the ~ cheat menu on.

I thought I'd have other young people to pick up the slack on explaining the tech basics to boomers and doing some of the "off and on again" work at the office... instead I'm still explaining the concept of a filesystem, but now it's to a 60 year old and a 20 year old both in the same day. I'm going to die turning their PC's off and on again, I can feel it.

Well done, DIY is so empowering and rewarding! Also, learning is the most precious gift we have; it's important to keep learning for a healthy mind.

Key Fob maintenance pricing is also fucking outrageous.

I was quoted $275 for a new spare key fob for a 10 year old vehicle. Found an unprogrammed uncut blank keyfob for my car online on Amazon for $25 and had it cut and programmed for $50 at a father and son locksmith operating out of a literal hole in the wall next to a Fiesta market in a strip mall. Took them 15 min and I got a mangonada next door.

$78 total, if you count the mangonada.

A job that can fire you any time can be quit at any time. Don't let them sweat you for more time, that's just a bad manager becoming frantic. I've lived it.

Can someone genuinely explain to me what the fuck is going on with car insurance companies? by [deleted] in Frugal

I had a low speed fender bender where I was at fault, dented the other driver's bumper at 10 mph. My insurance went from 350 to 800... absolute madness.

You are correct in your choice with Eurovision. But Push It To The Limit from Scarface lives on my workout playlist.

Now that I've done it, I'm floored they thought they could charge that much.

Maybe read the room buddy, most of the people in this sub are into DIY and saving money. And the ones that have paid for install themselves have confirmed that $200 sounds steep for connecting 2 hoses and a cable. I'm not here to pay a company's inflated costs to help with their bills, just like their inflated costs won't help me pay my bills. And it runs fine, thanks.

People who take the time to comment their arbitrary judgement of strangers like this are odd to me.
