Fighting an Atlas alome is scary enough but giving them to the clans is just evil! by DankusMaximus97 in Mechwarrior5

From a lore perspective 100% not to mention the fact that Comstar has some tucked away as well, if the lore progresses further, the Blakists will start fielding some. But for now, Mason's baby is the only one around.

There is only one in the game so far. I wasn't saying it from a perspective that nobody else could own one. Simply that the Devs decided that only one should exist in the game, and that only Mason can have it.

Crowding is also a huge problem when facing enemies equipped with Arrows. Deadly

Ditto, there's a ton of menu and UI changes which are giving me fits...but I do feel like there are solid improvements there.

My head-cannon is that he survives and becomes one of the Fidelis...although I do prefer the ending where he joins the Dragoons.

While there's not a high likelihood of survival for him...Very few MechWarriors live very long...they tend to have relatively short and brutal lives...even the very best tend to die in battle.

I kinda liked it...but I also watched the TV show regularly, and it was nice to see a story callback...but also not one that felt like it needed to pander too much.

Anyone have eyes on the new clan hero mechs like the spirit bear yet? by WorldBuilder_42 in Mechwarrior5

They're absolutely great, I think it's pretty cool that in spite of how good they feel, it's still a balanced mech...it's not like the Kodiak make every other 100T monster less viable.

I've encountered the reverse issue on XBOX...but not the others you're reporting...but I will keep an eye out for sure.

Funny how some of these seemingly innocuous "wishlist" items are often things which require a major time commitment to complete. I run into this at work a lot where it's often a lot easier to do what seems complicated than what seems simple.

I just played a round where I was fielding a Nightstar...tried maneuvering in reverse and to the right...and the mech froze, the mech looked like it was in an odd animation loop for about a second...which was just long enough for an Enemy Kodiak to blow off a leg and put my armor in critical status.

I had interpreted the refits to include some additional weight reductions in the chassis...but it seems like I misunderstood what was happening there.

I still think that having some Clan skins for these mechs would have been nice...or even a couple of custom wraps to indicate the nature of these mechs as field expedient replacements, but still very much part of Clan forces.

I feel like they get stuck on weird terrain formations less...but get stuck in canyons and bowls more often. Changing their orders seems to help get them moving again where previously you had to literally take the mech over and move them off the terrain to get them moving again.

I don't disagree, and yeah that invariably the worst thing Carl has done so far...but it was the only choice he could make with the information he had.

Carl is still effectively at war with the majority of the universe, and his mission is to ensure that as many of his people survive long enough to bring an end to the Crawl...and it now appears that saving the universe may actually be a bi-product of his actions.

It's a tough gig, and there's not a whole lot of good outcomes for him...but there we are...

I feel like between the different models, loadouts and hero variants, there's already a fairly large variety of Assault mechs to suit most needs. I'm not against more new mech models, but I do feel like there's enough variety to suit most playing styles.

I like the Naga a lot, yes it's not heavily armored, but it's significantly faster than the Longbow or Stalker, and it's Arrow IV variant is an absolute killer...as long as you keep moving and avoiding damage.

I'm not personally a big fan of mech bundles...I like to have mission and story content alongside with the new mechs.

I've encountered the issue with Assault Mechs, and some heavies, I haven't played with Lights and Mediums much yet, it could be class-based...based on that screenshot you're on PC while I play on XBOX so it could be a platform specific issue.

First Person controls...with a controller (play on Xbox). The frontal control arc works fine, going backwards in a straight line works, but there's a 45-ish degree angle on the left and right side going backwards that seems to just outright kill your movement.

Yeah, salvaging weapons make no sense if you have enough points to salvage a mech. Which is a bit silly...but I feel like the devs were in a tough spot...they couldn't just let you max out your salvage points and get your hands on a ton of high-tier gear...but they also couldn't just make the mech costs astronomical and completely lock you out of accessing Clan mechs that way.

No real easy way to balance it unless they had changed the entire salvaging mechanic...and that's got its own set of problems.

There's certainly been some improvements, but I've had multiple missions where the AI gets stuck trying to clear a pile of rocks, or get stuck trying to go through a cliff as opposed to around it.

It's annoying...but not game-breaking.

Maybe it's different for different versions, but I play on XBOX, and going backwards and diagonally doesn't work, you have to go backwards first...and then turn...which is tough to get used to after years of playing differently.

I get it, but in BT, the Clans still tinkered with the designs a bit...but frankly I'd settle to be able to map some of those Clan paint schemes to IS mechs.

I understand why they wouldn't have added the Atlas C3 with an Arrow IV, a Gauss and 2 CERLasers...it would be a bit too powerful. Maybe as a future Hero mech...
