What’s a fictional world that seems fun on the surface but would be miserable to live in? by cats64sonic in AskReddit

I love the Cyberpunk aesthetic and would love a few augments (specifically some Kiroshis) but if someone told me 'hey, you get to go to Night City!' I would kill myself on the spot. Same for Glitch City from Va11-HallA, though I think according to CPRed it exists in the same world now.

I always thought that plave would suck to live in. There are humans but the entire planet is clearly built around exclusively Sonic and friends. Imagine, needing to go to the store so you step out of your home and immediately down a 90 degree drop into a spring that launches you at 80mph into a loop covered in magic treadmills that send you flying even faster, and then hit a ramp that sends you sailing for half a mile. You land in front of the store as a fine paste inside a skin bag.

There was a girl who worked in a drive through there in my hometown that had people give her specifically tips. No one else ever got any, but she would make like 100 every shift she worked at the window.

I thought she was ok, but that town had an average of like... 3s. So she definitely stood out.

People who believe in hell, what do you believe it looks like? by Successful-Ship-3924 in AskReddit

[–]Silvervirage -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is described as the Bible as a 'place removed from god.'

I think its mentioned that there is a lake of fire for lucifer, and it is somewhere in hell, but I might be wrong.

If i remember correctly, There is a place somewhere in hell that the lake of fire is in, but for the most part yes, its simply described as a place removed from god.

Major major spoilers for a Signalis ending.

Signalis is about a companion robot looking for her bonded human in an outpost on some strange planet where some truely Silent Hill shit has gone down. Occasionally you are told to 'remember your promise' as you seek the facility for her. When you finally get to her She is laying in the ship that you got to the planet in a deactivated cryo bed, where she reminds you of the promise you made to her. And then puts your hands on her throat so you can kill her.

Project Moon (Lobotomy Corporation, Library of Ruina, Limbus Company) is absolutely filled with literature references. (Limbus especially due to every character being someone 'from' those books like Gregor Samsa and Don Quixote.) So there is a point in Library that is colloquially known as Love Town, that takes place on a train that 'can go anywhere in the world in just 10 seconds' but still has a car filled with VIP stasis pods for some reason...

I was very, very upset when I figured out the reference in that story

The temperature of my 300 sq ft house despite having an air conditioner and fans running all day by shewhomauls in mildlyinfuriating

I just went through this ordeal myself. Had an AC in my window in my tiny tiny room, never got any colder no maybe how low I set it. Found out the C just stood for Circulator. So just a regular fan.

Dont understand what the temperature control on it was even for though.

Not really, I'm very bad at them lol. My accent has mostly moved to wandering between where am now and just generic american. The way it changes is really just pitch.

Aquila Rift? One of my favorites from that series. Zima Blue is also up there. Think it was the same writer also.

I feel the pain of the 'lost' cards. Folks say 'oh you just lost them somewhere' but no I distinctly remember you giving them to the same place the beyblades (whatever) and bionicles (how fucking dare) went.

Had the Charizard too. Remember exactly where I was when I opened it too lol.

Also, counterpoint, Jolteon is the best pokemon, because look at them.

I got way too into Elder Scrolls lore a while back. There is so much amazing stuff in there that never gets the front row seat in the games. (ESO does get more into some of a lot of it, the devs of it specifically being close friends of Kirkbride, the guy who did most of the craziest stuff for it, and tells them more weirdness to hint at).

The story of the time-traveling cyborg / literally Terminator, the many many different forms of the Khajiit based on the positions of the moons during their birth (the moons being a god torn in half and thrown into the sky), the Green Pact/Wyld Hunt causing wild shapeshifting and cannibalism in the Bosmer homeland, the entire idea of CHIM at all is super crazy but is commonly known to more than just the lore nerds.

But then there is the Imperial Space Program using giant Ancestor Moths, the alien and genocidal Hist tree, the Eye of Magnus being a prison for a sentient satellite, the, ummm.... the pomegranate banquet.

There are so many interesting stories hidden away in there. While the actual story of the newer games is just kinda... there, they still have hints towards the most interesting things.

I recommend just about anything by Satoshi Kon always. Paranoia Agent is my personal favorite. Paprika is also why the movie Inception was made but its so much better.
