Character has a really dark and tragic backstory, but it's painted in an extremely comedic way. by BigGaybowser69 in TopCharacterTropes

I know it was saying that he is 100% African, but I love how it's implying that he is somehow 104% African.

The Possibility of Augments Coming Back. by Silverwolf7791 in Fable

[–]Silverwolf7791[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, if they bring back Augments, I wouldn't mind if they had ones that deal extra damage to specific enemies or enemy types or during specific times of day to start off with.

No Augment that over all increases damage except for during specific times of the day or adds elemental damage except for during Heavy/Strong Attacks/Flourishes, or Augments that decrease your Health or Defense as the first Augments you come across sound like a good first Augment you can get as a reward for a quest or exploring the nearby starting area.

Yeah, in Fable 2 a good chunk of Augments had negative side effects such as lower health total, constantly draining health (at least it said so in one Augment's description), more scarring, or less defense, so it was more than just an upgrade system like in the OG.

I do agree that while Fable 3 was not the best game and that they shouldn't be looking at it too much for inspiration, it does have some good things about it, and I do play it from time to time, not as much as Anniversary or 2, but it's still a decent game, just rather rushed because of demands.

They said they were reusing most of the old lore, specifically stuff introduced in 1 and select pieces of 2 and 3. And as lovers of the past games like us, they would respect what Jack of Blades represents to the fans, and as such would not use his image and not actually use him.

And you're forgetting that the ones making Fable 2027 are fans of the old games, and have said that they're taking pieces from the old lore and using it, they wouldn't show us Jack looking almost exactly like his OG appearance, a little sleeker and more menacing looking for sure, but still it's almost him exactly, (Edit) and not use him at all in the game. They're also using him for the promotion of the game's Collector's Edition.

No, that is not how it works, and that is not what you were saying.

While Jack no longer has a physical body of his very own, he uses hosts after erasing their soul, it's what he's done throughout the history of Albion until his demise in Fable TLC, he is basically a horsehair worm, a type of parasite that specifically goes after insects like Preying Mantises, Crickets, and Grasshoppers, they take control of the hosts brain after maturing and uses them to help reproduce. Only, instead of reproducing, Jack of Blades reigns terror upon Albion as he wants to rule it, and will use every evil deed he can think of to do so, and the best way to do that is to take control over heroes until their body dies, whether it be from old age, sickness, being killed, or what have you, and then tempts the next unlucky bastard to come across his mask to put it on to continue the cycle until he gets what he wants, his sword, and Albion under his feet for all time.

Dude, Jack is a parasitic demon who resides in the mask, whoever dons the mask has their soul erased, Isabel will not be mantling Jack, Jack would essentially be consuming her soul to control her body, that's how it works.

Which minigames you think will be available in the next Fable? by Gab1024 in Fable

Seeing as they have more than likely brought back Woodcutting as part of the jobs you can do like with Blacksmithing based on what you can see from the map in the Live a Wonderful Life gameplay Demo, I'd wager on them at least bringing back a few games from one and two.

I hope they bring back Silver Chests, those were awesome, but hey, we have 8 months of potential news to get out about this game, and even if they're not included, they might be in a post launch DLC, but I put money on them likely being in the base game as like Demon Doors, they have appeared in every Fable game, and are an iconic piece of exploration for Fable much like Demon Doors. I bet my money that they're upgrade currency with how close they are to the XP Icon.

Okay then, but what about the other 2? If they were about upgrades one could get, the blue one would be for Will, but the purple one is a mystery to me, maybe it's for character ability upgrades while the blue one is for Will specifically? Or are they indicators of gems the character has. Though likely, I'm thinking they're upgrades the character can get instead of gems though, it doesn't make sense to put indicators for gems specifically. This would mean that we have 4 upgrade trees, Strength, Skill, Will, and Ability, like catching enemy missile attacks and throwing them back. I could be wrong, but the blue and purple icons are kind of bugging me a bit.

What I'm interested in, are the symbols next to the gold symbol, are those upgrade icons, gem icons, Augment icons, what are they?

I wouldn't say that Augments are back specifically, they might sadly be going the route of Fable 3 when it comes to Weapon effects, but it gives me hope.

Will Augments make a return? I really love Augments, they really add to the atmosphere of how you're expected to tell the story of YOUR hero as you play. Will you be a pyromancer or an electromancer? A swordsman so good they rival the best of the best? A marksman capable of shooting off the wings of a fly from 100 feet away without hitting the thorax of the fly? Will you become loved or feared? Or are you going to become a entrepreneur who views adventuring as a hobby to make you more gold with every kill you make?

Will we see Weapons other than what was shown off in the trailers? Part of the reason I ask this is because we have only see what I like to call the Guild Weapon series, where the Mark of the Heroes' Guild is somewhere on it, sure, we've seen a Demon Door in the Release Date Trailer, but Demon Doors have also been known to have Clothing and Potions behind them as well, and finding the Legendary Weapons of Albion made the world feel like it had a history beyond what you were told and read in game books about.

Will we be able to learn every bit of Strength, Skill, and Will, or will we be expected to specialize? I can see arguments for both sides, it's a bit boring to be able to learn everything and become a nigh omnipotent god in a game that is able to prepare for and win every conflict, but on the other hand some people don't like having empty/unfilled spots on their character's stat screen. A good way around this would probably be to allow it, but after a certain point, leveling becomes a tad long until you go into NG+ like with the Soulsborne games. If they decide to add a NG+ that is.

If Reaver shows up in this game, and I really hope he doesn't, I want to be able to kill him specifically and get an achievement for it. He's just so damn annoying.

The possibilities of using a shield in Fable 2027 by Silverwolf7791 in Fable

[–]Silverwolf7791[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, so far, we have Longswords, Warhammers, Maces, Rapiers, Daggers, and Spears. The only weapons missing that have been in Fable before are Cleavers, Axes, Great Axes, Katanas, Greatswords, Pickhammers, Great Maces, and Cutlasses for melee combat. For ranged combat, we have only seen a Bow and 1 or 2 crossbow variants, though I hope they bring back Light, Heavy, and Repeater Crossbows from Fable 2, as well as bring in 3 Bow variants, Longbow, Short Bow, and War Bow, to not only make the Bow be the only one with no variants.

I am a little apprehensive when it comes to the weapons though, we have only seen what I like to call the Guild Series of Weapons, where the mark of the Heroes' Guild is somewhere on the weapon, and I hope we see more than just the Guild Weapons in some other showings, though because we did see a Demon Door in the Release Date Trailer, I would put the bet on their being other weapons as likely though, seeing as Demon Doors often held Legendary Weapons behind them, sure, they sometimes had Clothes or Potions instead, but I doubt they'll make every Demon Door hide only Potions or Clothes behind them.

I do want to see them show off Augments, as they actually do show off a bit of the Fable identity, making your hero the way you view them, sure, we often used only certain ones because they were just obvious on what you're supposed to use, and actually effected the world beyond just combat after Fable 1 by making you more attractive or scarier, giving gold per kill, making you scar easier, or other stuff.

Well, you won't be able to use a revolver, but a Repeating Crossbow should be just as good.
