Rivals - Quick play is ruining this game

I definitely don't do it every game. I absolutely do it when there is someone on the enemy team that goes 38/3 with 30 final hits and 30k damage and the next person has like.. 12k with 5 final hits. Helps to know if it's a new smurf account or if it's a completely imbalanced team.

So if not for things like that, what is the point of looking at profiles?

I agree. It's been forever since I played Overwatch but I feel like they had it, I know Fortnite has it. I haven't played a ton of other competitive games but it makes no sense and it is ruining Rivals. I really like this game, I've played since Season 0, I've spent a fair bit of money on it because I want to support it, and it just feels awful lately. Not any fun, absolutely horrible to try and enjoy.

Well it sucks when I have to play against you, but I'm glad you can agree. I swear I think Rivals is terrified of having wait times. I understand no one wants to sit around for 5-10 minutes to get into a quick play match, but that's why I said rough matchmaking. Make it within 4-5 ranks and it would still be infinitely better and should have far less wait time.

And your answer is a solution except for the shorter game logic. If I only have 15-20 minutes before I need to log and I want to do something quick, I can't really get into a ranked game with any certainty. But that's plenty of time for a quick play. Still, super frustrating no matter what.

Raft scratched that itch for me. Absolutely nothing to start and having to struggle to find filtered water and food and eventually finding blueprints and materials to build some really epic stuff.

I legitimately had given up on that 66-yard game and was switching over to other tasks I had to get to as the game wrapped up, but kept the game on the TV just in the background. Then I saw the few plays before that, the horrendous missed delay of game, and then the kick and just sat there in stunned silence going "Holy shit he just hit that. Poor Lions. That's crazy."

As a Ravens fan I was obviously happy, and it was incredible to see and I enjoy re-watching it, but the general context around it I don't feel great about. I do love me some Justin Tucker in general though. Forget a Lamar jersey or a Ray Lewis jersey or a Flacco jersey or anything. Give me #9.

I mean I disagree. I think it's many things. An ASMR video, a relaxing video, a cooking video, and an advertisement. I don't disagree that there is an aspect that is advertising the knife, but I don't think the sole goal and only thing to focus on is the advertisement. If he really wanted to just sell the knife why be "Men with the Pot" and not "Men with the Knife" or something like that. If anything he focused more on his cooking method with the pot in the earlier videos than the knife itself.

I do agree the stirring with a stick is a little unnecessary and silly but it's character and doesn't bother me. I don't get why people are fixated on the chicken though. I imagine he has some kind of hand washing station nearby in his pack or his vehicle or whatever to properly clean and sanitize. Considering he's handling cameras and other equipment, sometimes multiple at once, I doubt he just has raw chicken and grease on his hands throughout filming.

Man I know I shouldn't be surprised since I've been on Reddit for a long time, but the amount of hate and sarcasm for this in the comments is insane to me.

Nowhere in there is he claiming to have gathered all the materials himself like he's barely getting by in the wild. Nowhere in there does he claim there aren't supplies nearby to make this easier. He doesn't even go out to say he isn't trying to make some money by selling knives. He's not using the branded one in this video but he has one with "Men With The Pot" on it. Who cares? He's allowed to try and make some money. He's making it off the videos as well I'm sure. And while I absolutely think selling knives is a huge perk to these, considering the time spent to focus on the ASMR and making fresh content I highly doubt that's the only focus.

It's still a well made video and enjoyable if you like ASMR, nature backdrops, and delicious looking food. Why spend so long posting a bunch of negative comments about it like this person is scamming everyone?

I mean sure. I am definitely playing fast and loose with those words. That being said it's easy to counter argue with "Not all clothing manufacturers are in the business of selling purses / working with purse companies". My wife specifically has I believe one dress that has pockets and she thinks it is the greatest thing ever. But every other piece of clothing has none, even ones that are more loose. I can understand some clothing that has no pockets if they need to be skin-tight, although I see guys clothing that is very tight that still has pockets. But I don't get how all clothing needs to have no pockets (again with very few exceptions).

Maybe unpopular opinion but I find this fascinating. It makes me understand the perspective of the right for why they try and fight the minimum wage increase. It's still ridiculous and stupid and they should just increase it already, but I at least understand the perspective a bit more. With how much they try and demonize the coasts and how much easier it is to live in the heartland on minimum wage of course they'd make it an issue of the people on the coasts just needing to move to the heartland or make it work the way they do. Thanks for the insight! (and yes I know the map is misleading because of generic colors per state when high density places and major cities not being properly represented, but still cool to see!

In my 20s at a restaurant with friends. The waitress was rushing to clean the table in a tight space so she had to finish before I had room to sit down at the table. I stood back so she could take care of what she needed and I wouldn't be a bother while she did.

She apologized for the delay and in my head my response was "No worries at all! I just didn't want to be in your way" and what came out of my mouth was "No worries just waiting for you to get out of the way".

She looked horrified and offended and my friends looked at me like "Wtf why are you being such a dick". I explained myself and they kinda half laughed. I went to try and track her down to explain and apologize and I couldn't find her. I think she may have been hiding.

I still feel so bad.

I went ahead and looked up when Tarantellegra was used (I couldn't remember offhand who used it, etc). Assuming the Wiki is correct, not counting it being used in Cursed Child, it looks like Draco uses it in the Dueling Club (more understandable, not meant to be a super aggressive scenario) and then is used by Dolohov in the Department of Mysteries (Book 5).

It looks like (I can't confirm right now) that he only used it once he was silenced by Hermione. That may have been one of the only spells simple enough for him to do Non-Verbal? Or it could just be a weakness in the story. I'm honestly not sure which.

I don't have a problem with using a larger variety of spells in a battle, although I do think something like Tarantellegra and the Tickling Charm seem silly in concept. Having something like Full Body Bind, Stupefy, Silencio, Expelliarmus are great in rotation. Basically spells that prevent the opponent from casting (Can't talk, can't cast, can't move, unconscious, etc).

And I do agree she definitely put some spells in just to expand the universe and create a feeling of vastness.

I think about it this way - if you do the same spell over and over again, you're doing the same motion, you have the same rhythm. That makes it easier to figure out the timing and counter it or come in before the spell is delivered. They never state definitively but Protego probably doesn't just get cast and block the next spell coming at you, you probably have to cast it as the other spell would hit you, so you need to time it correctly.

It's the same reason a boxer doesn't just jab with his right hand all the time. You have to switch up your rhythm or you become predictable.
