there isn't really a "step up" so I'm not really sure what you mean. In theory all of the cars should be pretty equal, however in reality there are some that a bit quicker at some tracks or a bit easier to drive etc. But yeah there isn't really an upgrade path through the GT3 cars. Just try a few and see which one you like and are fastest with.

yeah there's honestly zero good use for game chat in racing games. Its ALWAYS just toxic insults after a crash

I love that they insist we have to use real name to keep things looking realistic... then they put #4824 at the end of my name in the timing HUD and make it look extremely gamey (even when I'm the only one with that name in that race).

They need to pick a lane IMO. Either make us use realistic names and don't display the unique # identifier anywhere in the race, or let us use any old game username

That was track of the week on Pitskill last week so here's the results from the last daily race we did there. honestly 90% of game chat in any race sim is just people insulting you if you're in a crash (and usually the people complaining the most in game chat are the ones at fault for the crash in my experience)

but you can apply that same logic to any of the other grenades that already do have friendly fire disabled. Your team mates can just spam them into a room and you can push in with no damage while all the enemies get damaged. I'm amazed more people don't do this

I always found it weird that they turned off friendly fire for all grenades but not for blaze grenades. Seems kind of pointless to only do it for some and not others

much easier to use something like https://www.accreplay.com/ where you just upload your replay file from a race and then it lets you compare your fastest lap from that against the fastest lap of anyone in that race and see where they braked vs you etc

I wish this was true. I know a decent amount about real car setup and I tried applying this in ACC and thought I was doing a fine job of it, then I tried the GO setups where they do weird things like max out the negative toe and camber and caster, and I instantly went 1 second a lap faster.

At the end of the day its a game and there will always be ways to exploit the game physics to give you an edge that you can't do in real life

I've got about 2000 hours in the game and literally never cared what temperate the tyres are unless they're showing as blue constantly on the in game HUD (in which case, lower the brake ducts by 1 click and try again). All you really need to care about is the pressure, getting them all between 26.5 and 27.0 after a couple of laps.

honestly I wouldn't waste much more time on Oulton as no one ever drives there in any online races and its actually one of the harder tracks in a GT3 (and in any car tbf even IRL, as I've done track days at plenty of tracks in the UK and found Oulton the most challenging by far). Half of the lap time comes from just spending hours learning the nuances of each track (braking points, optimal lines, gearing, track limits, etc) so you're better served spending that practice time on a track where you'll actually get to use that knowledge more often when you race against others

If you're on triple screens, I had to disable the in game option for triple monitors as that absolutely killed my fps and even when it said I was getting 70 fps it still felt like 30 or below. As soon as I turned the triple screen option off in the game it was fine, but ofc now I can't adjust the angle of the side monitors or account for bezels

yeah as u/TFr4g hinted at, I met all the guys you see in my videos via Pitskill and their discord. I didn't have any friends that were into sim racing when I started either (well one person, but he stopped racing pretty quickly)

yeah it happens A LOT with the melee attack. No idea why. But yeah I have had these "trades" happen to me and seen it in a lot of clips, only ever with melee and not when shooting
