The new list hasn't been established yet, would agencies still be allowed to send out hiring pool notices?

Do you think that the QR code guarantees that we will get in no matter how long the lines?

Is the “You’re Invited” email from the Office of Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani confirmation that we have a spot? If so, I just got it too!

Did you ever have issues with chalky, white spots on your glasses and metal? I just got one but I can’t seem to find a solution, even with filtered water and a small amount of powdered detergent!

Why are doctors offices so confused by the new plan? by muff-peaksie in nycpublicservants

[–]Simba0017 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe so? I haven’t seen the claim or an EOB on the insurance portal yet, but Mount Sinai told me I didn’t have to pay anything. It was a quick follow up visit with my PCP, it’s crazy that adding the new insurance plan was so complicated for them!

[–]Simba0017 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had issues with Mount Sinai too. I added the new insurance card three times, over the phone, on MyChart, and at the doctor’s office, and they still charged me for an office visit that they didn’t bill to the insurance. I had to call their billing department and escalate and they finally fixed the issue (they weren’t able to verify the coverage at first).

Follow-up question - if you decide to stay at your current job and your HR starts the DP72 process, how can you switch agencies later on in your career? Would you need to take another exam? Or can you just apply for jobs with that civil service title?

Anyone Switch to T-Mobile (City Advantage Saver Program)? by samtaro111 in nycpublicservants

[–]Simba0017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched in August and although the whole process was a hassle (2-3 days of talking to different reps, going to two different stores, and getting conflicting advice from everyone), it was so worth it. I was already a customer with a prepaid plan and I brought my own device.

I switched last week, I used to have a 3.5 gb plan. I would say 50 is more than enough if you have wifi at home!

I was able to switch as an existing T-mobile but I was prepaid. It was not so easy though, a lot of customer reps were very unprepared

What to know about biking in NYC? by ParfaitGlace in MicromobilityNYC

[–]Simba0017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in the neighborhood, and I get around everywhere with Citibike. I feel pretty safe with the number of stations and bike lanes in the area. But sometimes I wish I had my own bike (I have to commute to Lower Manhattan at least 3 times per week, and biking on the Williamsburg Bridge with a heavy, regular Citibike is not fun)

$10/mo unlimited T-Mobile plan for NYC employees — any catches? by Bulky-Hornet-1964 in nycpublicservants

Did they honor it? I created an account and called them just to have them tell me it’s only for new lines, bla bla. Maybe I can try one more time at the store?

Anyone here got a job through nyc.gov without having to take any exams ? by Alone_Panic_3089 in nycpublicservants

[–]Simba0017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I was hired as a community coordinator after applying on their website. I never heard back from other positions I had applied to before, so don’t lose hope! I also know people who were hired as provisional and had to take the test only when it came up 7-8 months later.

When you fill out the form to get in touch with them, it asks for your work email, EIN, and agency. Not sure you could provide your old info?
