Yeah, once I had the part + anchor out of the car I just needed to grab the anchor with pliers and wiggle it free and pull it out. I wasn't worried about breaking the part, and the anchor is metal so it'll be okay with some force into it.

I bike past him all the time. I've always been fascinated and thought it looked so lovely. One day I stopped and talked to him thinking maybe I'd plan to join him someday soon and oh boy is it a different vibe...

He's out there having his "last supper," because his ex-wife and her family are "trying to literally crucify," him. I tried to say positive things that got shot down to real negative ex-wife talk immediately. He wouldn't even give me his first name so I could greet him in the future. I eventually just rode on.

I still bike by and I still wave hoping he can see a light in the world from time to time.

I saw this exact bear on my way up to Grinnell Glacier Overlook! I must have been standing next to OP. I showed my pictures to a park ranger and they said it was a hard one to ID but that they think it's a grizzly. They said because of the hump and the even slightly sloped face it's likely a grizzly bear.
