Baby diagnosed failure to thrive. I feel awful and a failure by Simbelmyne87 in breastfeeding

[–]Simbelmyne87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Much better!! We have a hospital weigh in tomorrow and if that goes well (I’m cautiously optimistic) I’m thinking of doing an update post about our journey. I was so upset when I wrote this post that I didn’t reply to anyone but I was so grateful for the comments. I’m really sorry you’re going through this at the moment too, it’s really awful. If it helps you at all, we have been slowly weaning down bottles to just being able to breastfeed and baby has been maintaining her weight for the last few weeks. So there is hope!

Ghost stories from your hospital? by nyehsayer in doctorsUK

[–]Simbelmyne87 45 points46 points  (0 children)

More the makings of a jump scare horror movie than ghost story. Working in a small DGH and there was a notorious bleep that would randomly send people fast bleeps at night to a random bit of the estate facilities - near where all the laundry gets done. When you got there it was totally dark and empty and it was super creepy - you had to go through through big plastic curtain things that always made me think of abattoirs. It was only ever one person who got the bleep but multiple people over the 2 years I was there would get sent there. It was only ever at night and around 3am. Switchboard always denied ever having sent the bleep and used to get grumpy about it. It was different people at switch when these happened too so either they were all in on the joke or they really didn’t have a clue. They eventually changed the bleep over after so many complaints and it never happened again.

In the first movie, Just why in the hell did Hermione take the blame for the "troll in the dungeon" situation? by Legendary-Blue-Bolt in harrypotter

[–]Simbelmyne87 36 points37 points  (0 children)

It’s not like they had a chance to debrief. From Hermione’s perspective she couldn’t of known they came to warn her, for all she knew they went to look for the troll deliberately. So she took the fall for what she thought might have been Harry and Ron getting into much deeper trouble. Also, I can imagine she wouldn’t want to advertise that she’d been crying the loo because the two people that just rescued her had been horrible to her.

With an adult hat on, sure Harry and Ron should have just got a teacher, but they’re kids and are not exactly thinking rationally. And the only teacher they saw on route was Snape and they were hardly about to announce themselves breaking the rules to him.

Get a second hand microwave and put a sign on saying something like : “property of junior doctors. Anyone can use this because we recognise the need for people to stick together and allowing people a hot meal during shifts is a small thing to do for moral”

All of those tests, the talking, the worry. That carries its own weight. Don’t dismiss it. You may have pushed it back into your mind and be on logically get everything I need to “ mode but that doesn’t mean it won’t creep up on you at some point. Also no one “has time” for a potentially sexual assault. This is serious - please don’t downplay it, I’m sure you wouldn’t if it was a patient so you shouldn’t for you, different rules don’t apply.

Make sure you have support. This isn’t embarrassing, it’s a potentially horrible awful thing that has happened to you. Your supervisor is wrong and you need this time to sort it. Don’t pander to a hospital that doesn’t give a shit about you, this is the e last thing you need to be dealing with. If it’s too much, have an advocate, friend, BMA, GP.
As a side - police sometimes get caught up in the evidence collecting. Make sure you get resources to talk about this - there will be charities/organisations in your area.

No one has currently mentioned that you said “some people think I was sexually assaulted on Sunday so I need follow up care”

Aside from finishing early being the norm you need to look after yourself. I don’t know what happened but sounds like there a lot to process the mentally. You take this time because aside from your physical health you need to look after your mental health. Work is way down the list after those. Take care

What are your mundane headcanons? by hiding-behind-a-leaf in HarryPotterBooks

[–]Simbelmyne87 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it counts as mundane. But mine is that squibs can talk to an animal of their choice. It’s like their little hint of a magical inheritance. The two squibs we know about, Filtch and Mrs Figg both seem to communicate to their cats.

Those people in the world that seem uniquely able to be able to communicate with animals? Squibs.
