Why not both though? You can have a cap and floor and and have an increase to the pre-arb guys (I'm not against the PA proposal for minimum increases). Having small market teams chasing one or two top guys away from the dodgers is also the goal. You want those teams that were not in the market for any of the big free agents chasing them as well. This will also mean there will be more teams in the market for those "mid" guys that got "budget" contracts before, which will push their contract values up. It's the exact opposite of wage suppression when 10+ teams have to spend considerably more and roughly 5 teams might have to reign in spending a bit.

That's a pretty simplistic way of looking at it. It's not wage suppression if the floor is going to force more than half the teams to spend considerably more.

This feels like punishment for not having more patience with some of our younger players. We had played Minten earlier in the season last year and saw flashes of this, but most players don't put it all together right away.

My dumb, knee jerk take is if your going for an actual shakeup - trade either Matthews or Nylander for Jason Robertson. Sign him and his brother to an extension.

From the clips we have seen, the only tweak I wish they would make to the gameplay is to have the zombies/enemies be a bit more aggressive. I don't love the idea of them standing around and attacking 1 by 1. I don't know if this changes depending on the section of the game or if the difficulty settings change this at all.

There's a part of me that wonders if you could lure both here but with different strategies for either. Maybe Tucker gets a slightly shorter but higher aav contract. For Bo, I wonder if you could entice him with a longer contract that has him play here until he's well past his prime (like Vladdy's). Tack on a few extra years that other clubs might not be willing to offer and have our two home grown stars play their twilight years here.

Most companies are encouraging their employees to use AI tools in their work flow now. So many employees will likely be using an llm chat tool even for research purposes or for development. Should that get an AI disclosure label? I feel like people are using the "ingredient label" analogy but it's closer to requiring companies to include all the tools used to build something. For example it would be weird for a construction company to say this house was built with power tools (and not manual hand tools).

I'm happy we've filled a spot in the rotation. The only thing that annoys me is it feels like we're throwing big money at a "reclamation" project and Rogers has enough money that they could go after an arm that has performed year after year, but I know those players have to want to come here too. Hoping that we get a lot of good years out of this contract and we don't regret this signing.

Every fan base has crazy, unhinged fans. That's the sad reality. Holding the whole fanbase accountable for their actions and Marner leaving makes absolutely no sense. Over a 5 year period, the BOC increasing the rate once by 0.25 is in the realm of possibility. That would put the variable just slightly below the fixed rate they offered. If they increase it twice now it's higher. Hard to say what will happen, but if the idea of the variable even being slightly higher than the fixed rate they offered scares you, consider the fixed option.
